Love the angled display and ease of use
After several weeks of use I’m quite satisfied with the Normcore V3 scale, which I use exclusively for espresso.I chose the Normcore V3 because of the mechanical wheel used to select the various modes and for the angled display. I use M for manual to measure out the beans. I set the cup on the scale press T on the front and it tares to 0. Now I add my beans about 18.5 grams. I then grind my beans and then just for fun I reweigh to see how much my Eureka Zero Mignon grinder retained.I then shift the scale to E for espresso, I position it under the porta filter, place my cup on it and it auto tares. The first few drops cause the timer to start along with the scale. The angled display is easy to see as I watch my bottomless porta filter flow and color – beautiful. Time and weight vary with the type/roast of the beans.Likes:• Mechanical wheel to select modes and weight measure – grams or ounces• Scale seems sturdy while being sensitive and accurate – based on my previous scale used.• The three-sided rubber pad does not move around or slide, it is secure.• Love the angled display, very easy to see.Hmmmm• Concerned that its not waterproof – my bottomless porta filter occasionally channels a good stream of espresso on it, so far its been fine.• Don’t really care about the fine silicone case, or flow modes used for pour overs, or that it can weigh up to 4.4lbs• Price is a little high, but a super deal compared to othersI like it, I recommend it, I hope it lasts.I’ll close with words from the enclosed instructions from Normcore – “Do not collide vigorously” – one of several precautions listed. 😊

On a scale of 1-10, this scale's a ten
I'm sure you trying to figure out which scale to buy and it's kind of driving you crazy, but your search is over. Now you can concentrate on the other confusing choices such as "which grinder to buy". This scale feels much more substantial and heavy duty than the pictures. It has a lovely heft to it. Digital numbers are clear and bright and the angled screen is unique and placed perfectly. Super intuitive, I figured out how to use it almost immediately. It's so good, I'm leaving this review.

Works OK, Auto Timer has a 2 sec Delay
The media could not be loaded. This scale works pretty well for espresso. It will auto tare the cup and has an auto timer. The auto timer does have a 2 second delay though. Although this scale looked chunky in pictures, it is a good size. The beeps are a bit higher in pitch and volume than I would like, but it's not a deal breaker. The only thing I don't understand is the plug to cover the charging port. They had to have known people will lose this small piece. I didn't need the calibration weight and case, but it was nice to find out all my other scales from 10 years ago are still pretty accurate.

5 star no doubt
What an amazing piece of tech! The materials are high quality and feel great to the touch. The build is solid, the display is bright and easy to read, and the controls are simple to use. I’m so happy I didn’t cheap out!I’m not sure what more expensive scales (like Acaia) offer, but this device feels very premium and does an excellent job. The only possible downside is the lack of Bluetooth connectivity, but that’s only relevant if you have a Decent Espresso machine or something similar.

Espresso timing and weighing perfection
I tried a few and this is the one. I wanted to easily measure the weight and timing when making an espresso, and this scale is great. Low profile to fit under the cup well. It also has a physical switch to intentionally set the mode (unlike the other annoying units with confusing screen-based multifunction buttons that often don't work as expected) Once set, it stays set to espresso mode (or any other desired mode). Gloriously simple!Turn it on, set your cup, it automatically tares to zero and it is ready for the brew. As soon as the brewing process begins, it starts timing at the first few drops, weighs the espresso, and the timing stops automatically when the brewing process stops. It holds the weight and time values for about 30 seconds afterwards.A little more expensive than the cheapo brands, but it does exactly what I want and it does it well. Very highly recommended.

Quality! Substantial metal unit, travel case, 3-sided silicone cover, and 100g weight
The media could not be loaded. Nice substantial scale, made of aluminum or similar, controls and charging port on rear. Comes with a silicone cover, zip-up travel case, 100g weight, USB-A to USB-C charge cable, and detailed instruction manual. Bottom the scale has a quick reference for operation.I like the fit and finish of the Normcore scale, glad I went with a known brand as there are SO many knockoffs and generic brand scales out there. Like Normcore's other products, this just oozes of quality and thoughtful design. It's made of solid metal (aluminum?). The cover extends side to side, and overhangs over the rear to protect the switches from drips. (See pic.) Bonus: the silicone cover discourages lightweight glasses from "wandering" due to the vibration my KitchenAid KES6403 makes when the pump kicks in. Works fine with or without the cover.I have only tested it in the "espresso mode" where it will set a tare weight when you put empty cups on it, then automatically time and weigh the result as coffee flows into the cups. (Timer does not account for preinfusion where no liquid is produced.) Very easy to learn, and easy to use.I don't have a V60 so I haven't been able to crack the pourover (weight mode, ratio mode) use yet. It's a little small for my Sowden SoftBrew pots anyway (but fits the KES6403 drip tray just right; see pic). It IS petite so some of your fancy espresso glasses may require you to put it obliquely with each in a NE/SW corner arrangement like my Blomus espresso glasses. (No need for this arrangement with my vintage USN wardroom espresso demitasse cups.)

Great Quality Highly Visible Screen
Overall a superior quality product. Heavy construction and very bright, visible, easy to read display set at the perfect angle for viewing while pulling a shot. Easy fast selection for weighing method ie. auto start/stop for espresso shot: auto start when espresso hits the cup and stops when flow stops.
