A lot of thought and effort has gone into this potion making kit. When you first open the box you're presented with the 'Potions Recipe Book' which is nicely designed and (generally) reads well. It contains comprehensive instructions, with illustrations, detailing how to make the various potions. Unlike other kits we've tried, this one is a bit more prescribed, although of course you can go wild and make your own up if you so wish. There's a foaming 'mysterious' potion which ominously promises and eruption when water is added to the powder. I'm assuming it's bicarbonate of soda but there's little detail in the booklet, only a cautious line about not mixing it with anything else!There are recipes for potions which make concoctions similar to slime, I'm assuming with some sort of corn powder derivative. Most of the potions you could in theory create with ingredients in your kitchen, however what really makes this kit stand out are the additional features - the 'cauldrons' to mix the potions in, the small little vials and the labels. The box itself can be used as a display shelf when finished. It all adds to the fun of it.It isn't suitable for younger children due to small parts, however children aged 5+ will have so much fun with it. It definitely requires supervision due to the potential for mess making (keep a plate or tray under the mysterious potion before eruption!).It's a bit more expensive than other potion kits we've used but this is reflected in the level of detail and I think it is fairly priced.

I recently got this Magic Mix Potion Making Kit, with plans to use it with my grandkids during Christmas, and I couldn't be more happy.This kit comes with 20 potion bottles, which really sparks creativity. I know my grandkids will have a blast mixing different colours and ingredients to create their own unique "potions." It's a wonderful way to encourage imaginative play.The materials included in the kit are well-made. The potion bottles are easy to handle, and the accessories are vibrant colourful and fun.The kit comes with clear instructions that guide children on how to mix their potions. But for the younger ones, I will need to read the instruction with them so they have Success. But they are easy for the kids to follow along, and it even encourages some basic science concepts.Although it's targeted at kids aged 6-10, I can see the older grandkids enjoying it just as much. It’s perfect for the family get together, and we can compare notes at dinner so all the kids are involved.I am planning to use some of the completed potion bottles as decorations for our Christmas table setup, adding a magical touch.Overall this is a great kit that everyone can join in on.

This is something different that I'm sure every older child will enjoy. You can get creative and mix potions which have "allegedly" magic properties. You get 20 potion bottles, 2 magic cauldrons, a potion bottle, A magic book, 8 magic mixing materials, fairy wings, crystals, and wands. You add the potion, colour it, mix it, then add a label to name your potion. Great scientific creative fun for older kids and good value too.

This is an amazing magic potion kit. There is over 10 pieces in this kit including mini bottles, glitter, stickers and bits and bobs to put in and food dye.There are many potions you can make from the book and of course you can make your own up too.The box transforms into a shelf to store your potions on.This is a bargain for the cost and is great quality.

Fab kit full of lots of fun tiny materials for curious minds to mix up into little potions! Comes with a variety of pots and cork stoppers so the kit will last a couple of play times at least.

My little boy has a friend who loves to make potions! she is 7 and loved this set. It is really creative as you can make all sorts of different potions and dont have to follow the instructions! i also liked the fact you get a display box for showing off your creations. Highly recommend this lovely kit!

This is far and away the best kids' potion experiment kit we have had, and we have had many. Everything about the kit and experiments has been well thought out. There are lots of fun things, including glow in the dark stars, a powder that crystallises, and a variety of charms. This is also the first set I have encountered to have genuine gemstones. There is a small bag of tigers eye. Ours has a few pieces of rose quartz, clear quartz, and red jasper in, too. This is a really nice little bonus. I like that all the bottles are sturdy plastic in this set. In a previous set, we had there were really thin glass bottles. Ine was dropped from a small height onto thick carpet and shattered, leaving glitter and tiny bits of glass. So plastic is definitely best for a kids set! This has all the glitters and dyes and everything needed to make some fun and colourful creations. There is a fun, easy to follow potion book. The inner box doubles as a display stand for the completed potions. All in all, this is a great set for magic loving kids.
