Great Mat... but why hide that it was made in China with a "Made in Japan" sticker cover up?
I am very pleased with this mat. Natural, flexible, and easy to clean. I am a little confused as to why they took a lot of effort to hide the fact that it was made in "China" with carefully placing a "Made in Japan" sticker over top of it... but only on the plastic side!?! When I opened it I noticed this when the plastic and paper wrap separated... and was a little puzzled?!? I am sure that it was made in China, but the overall quality is still good. Not all Chinese products are bad... and this is one of them... so tell the truth! Give the Chinese their props when it is due!

Misleading product page. Received completely different item.
I received a Yanagi Natural Heart bamboo makisu. It is made in China.I honestly wouldn’t care if I had paid $2-3, but I paid $12 for this mat. I was expecting one made in Japan.I’m sure this is not Amazon’s fault, but the third-party seller I received my order from. I received my bamboo mat from 123kotobukijapanstore.

Just okay
I did a lot of research on sushi mats before I decided to buy this one. Its very good quality but I can't say that it rolls better than the 2 dollar ones at the Asian grocery. In fact I saw this same one for under 3 dollars at an Asian grocery today. Save your money.

It does its job very well. I just wish ...
It does its job very well. I just wish it was a little bigger. I have less than half an inch between the edge of the nori and the edge of the mat. However, it seems it is made of quality material. I will by the 10-1/2 x 10-1/2 mat next time.

Exactly as promised
The mat was nice quality and was delivered quickly. The bamboo is rounded on one side and flat on the other, it worked nicely.

It broke after 3 uses :(
One of the strings that held it together just broke after the third use. And after that, the rest of the strings went with it. I even kept it in a zip-lock bag to help preserve it.

Excellent quality
I started making sushi several months ago. Because of my inexperience, I had no idea that the mat I started with was of low quality until I compared it to the Kotobuki Makisu mat. I was very surprised to see how shabby my old mat looked next to this one.The bamboo splits are noticeably stronger, straighter, and stiffer than those on my old mat. They are also bound closer, tighter, and more evenly.I have made sushi with this mat once so far, and it rolled very well. I highly recommend this product.

Not any different than other mats with the same appearance.
It actually came to me damaged in some places.
