What a cute toy!
What a precious toy! My grandson loves it! Makes a sound similar to my Dyson and looks just like it. Comes with two attachments for extra fun. Seems like a good quality. Highly recommended!

Perfect for little helpers
I purchased this for my roommates toddler for Christmas. She always wants to use my Dyson v8 to help us clean up, but it's too heavy and large (and expensive) for a toddler to play with. This toy is perfect. It matches my real one almost exactly! The long tube is a clear orange (unlike the real one, which is metal) so they can see all the dust bunnies getting sucked up as they go. It also makes it easier to see any random objects they'll undoubtedly try to shove into it. All of the attachments connect just like on the real one, but the red release buttons are a bit difficult for her tiny hands to press easily. Maybe they'll loosen up over time? The roller bar is hard plastic with no bristles. It rolls when you push it around, but does not spin on it's own. This is probably more of a safety feature than a flaw like some reviews say. Remember all those old electronic toys that would catch kids' hair, chew it up, and tear it out? Yeah. The dust collection cup flap thing opens when you pull the red release handle on top, but the entire top doesn't pull up like the real one. Another good move because that would be the first thing to get broken and act as a potential pinch point. Most of the collection cup is actually sealed and filled with fake colorful debris. This means the cup walls won't get all nasty (like the real one) and they can't try to jam toys in there. The actual dust (cat hair, mostly) collects in a narrow space in the center of the cup. This makes it easier to clean since you can just wipe it out with a rag or a bottle cleaner. The "filters" do not come off/pull out and I'm thankful. She more than likely would have tried to take them off of the real vaccum at some point if the toy did the same lol The construction seems fairly sturdy. She rammed it into every wall the first day and it didn't scratch or break. I don't see any sharp or ugly mold lines, pretty much every iconic external detail is there, and the color match is perfect. The obvious "downside" is that it doesn't really suck up much at all, especially when the batteries are low. I know that too much suction would be dangerous, but it isn't even powerful enough to suck up anything heavier than tissue confetti or cat hair. Not a big deal though. A $30 kids toy obviously won't work the same as a $400+ vaccum and that's okay. My biggest beef is the power source. It would have been a great idea to make it rechargeable like the real one. It's almost 2022. Why are we still clinging to AA batteries for toys that literally suck them dry? Plenty of toys are rechargeable now. Even my cat has rechargeable toys! That said, kids have imaginations so the actual functionality doesn't matter that much, it's just cool when they work. Oh, and the real vacuum attachments do NOT fit on the toy one. Trust me, she tried. Overall, this is an adorable, affordable, and fun toy for any kiddo. It's even better when you have the real one to match!

Great choice
This is so much fun for my 3 year old. She loves doing everything we do, and this makes her feel like she’s doing the job herself. It’s durably built and has good suction. I like that it stores away well. She can operate it without help, and it seems very safe to let her play with it alone.

Fun pretend vacuum with one important battery detail
My kids love playing with this vacuum, especially when we are actually vacuuming the house. They always want to take over with the real vacuum, so having their own has been a big hit. I like that it actually does have some suction and will pull in small pieces of debris, which makes it feel more realistic for them. I do wish the suction were a little stronger, though. My kids would get more enjoyment out of watching it actually suck things up like a real vacuum. One thing worth knowing about the batteries is that standard rechargeable AA batteries may not work properly. Most rechargeable AA batteries are 1.2V, which is apparently too low for this toy. You will need either standard 1.5V alkaline AA batteries or rechargeable AA batteries specifically designed to provide 1.5V. Overall, it has been a fun toy for my kids and does a good job of making pretend vacuuming feel more realistic.

Toy Dyson Vacuum - A Toddler's Favorite with Real Cleaning Action!
We purchased this toy Dyson vacuum for our 14-month-old son, and it has quickly become his absolute favorite toy. Here's why we love it: 1. Captivating: Our son is obsessed with this toy. He carries it everywhere and rarely puts it down. It's amazing how much it holds his attention. 2. Realistic Function: The most impressive feature is that it actually picks up small items from the floor. While it's not powerful enough for real cleaning, it's perfect for teaching the concept of vacuuming. 3. Educational Value: This toy offers a great Montessori-style learning experience. We can show our son how vacuuming cleans up dirt and then teach him to empty the contents into a garbage can. It's a fantastic way to introduce cleaning concepts and responsibility. 4. Durable: Despite our toddler's rough handling, the vacuum has held up remarkably well. It's clearly built to withstand enthusiastic play. 5. Familiar Design: Since it resembles our real vacuum, our son feels like he's mimicking us, which he loves. 6. Engagement: It keeps our son entertained while we do actual housework, making cleaning time more enjoyable for everyone. 7. Size: It's perfectly sized for our toddler to maneuver easily. This toy has exceeded our expectations. We initially bought it because our son enjoys watching us vacuum, but it's become so much more than just a fun toy. It's a tool for learning, developing motor skills, and fostering an interest in helping around the house. We would absolutely buy this again and highly recommend it to other parents. It's a rare find - a toy that's entertaining, educational, and durable enough to withstand toddler play. A fantastic investment for any household with young children!

Overheating battery danger to kids
Initially a great product that looks like the real thing. However is relative short order stopped working. When I opened the battery bay, the existing batteries were so hot that I burned my finger. Figuring it was a bizarre occurrence, I replaced the batteries and the unit failed to function properly. The motor barely ran and the simulated dirt particles didn’t move. I then tested the batteries I replaced and they all read “Good”. Again I opened the battery compartment and encounters the same situation with the new batteries - They were extremely Hot!!!!. At that point I decided to not let my granddaughter play with it any longer.

Great If It’s Working; Needs Re-work/QA
This is a great product for kids who want to mimic mom and dad cleaning, but also need a replica that not only works, but has a bit more oomph to the pretend suction power (read: motor speed/loudness). HOWEVER… this product could use some serious quality assurance by actual kids. A simple change would make all the difference if they want their intended demographic to be happy. I don’t know why they made one absurd choice in a “feature”. The button that turns on the motor isn’t an on/off switch. You don’t just click the button to turn the vacuum on like EVERY OTHER VACUUM IN THE WORLD - real or replica. The harder you press the button, the faster the motor goes. Wh…. Just… what? WHY?! After thinking about it as much as I have been forced to think about it, I’ve realized this is, quite possibly, the single worst feature I have ever seen on a toy. (I am trying to restrain myself from saying anything too harsh so I don’t get my review rejected, but this single ridiculous choice has caused my son so very many tears and I’m pretty upset about that.) My son is crazy about vacuums. I believe we have about every model of toy vacuum that says it “really works”. This toy, when we first got it, had the best “suction” out of all his toy vacuums and he LOVED it. It was a handheld AND it sounded like a real vacuum? Say whaaat? He was in heaven. All his other vacuums disappeared in his mind. Then the batteries ran out. Then they ran out again. Then again. I bought rechargeable batteries because this thing was EATING batteries. But, hey, if it works, then it makes my son happy, so I am happy and I will deal with it. Then, one day, not long after I got it - maybe two weeks or so, my boy said, “nee’ ba’wy, daddy.” So I replaced the batteries and handed it back to him. “Nee’ ba’wy, daddy!” Really? Huh. Weird. I checked the charge and the batteries were fine. I tested the toy and it seemed to work fine, so I handed it back to him. He tried it and immediately looked at me like I had lost my mind and asked for batteries again. I told him that it doesn’t need batteries… and he threw the biggest fit I have ever seen. This toy that he loved more than all his other toys combined was still working, but it had stopped working *for him*. Just like every other toy, playing with it caused the moving parts to wear out. Now, for a grown man the button still works just fine, but because it’s a variable button instead of a switch, and the button is wearing out, and my son is a toddler, the vacuum seems to be constantly running out of batteries to him. His toddler fingers no longer have the strength to depress the button the entire way, so, in his mind, this thing that used to be his jackpot win, now is just a source of emotional pain: he can see that it works, but HE can’t make it work. Seriously… who thought that was a good idea? A variable motor in a kids vacuum that could maybe pick up a piece of cereal at full speed? It’s absolutely absurd. I’m giving it three stars because this WAS the best toy vacuum he owned and he loved it. I almost bought another one, but… it would just happen again. And another toy vacuum that “really works” showed up soon after my son sadly retired this one, so he has long forgotten it. Make the button a switch. I might buy another.

Helped my daughter get over fear
My daughter is extremely terrified of the vaccum, like full blown crying and screaming anytime we even go near the closet that has our vacuum. Needless to say I was very worried about this purchase but needed to give it a shot. Within a few minutes of receiving she was playing with it, and within 2 days she was helping her dad move the actual vacuum! I couldn’t believe it and was so happy! It is a little flimsy, and I didn’t like how there is nothing to hold the little attachment piece to the vacuum, unless I’m completely missing something. Other then that it is probably one of the best purchases I ever made for my girl and the fact that it got her over her fear alone, and so quickly is the reason I give it 5 stars. Would highly recommend to anyone with a child who has the same fear and/or special needs. Btw, I did notice on other reviews that people mention they are missing attachments, and I just want to try to clear up any misconceptions others may have. The pictures make it look like there are more attachments, but it is actually one piece that you can put 2 different attachments on. There is only 1 attachment to this vacuum (edging tube) and there are 4 pieces in total. The top portion (this is where one of two attachments go), the tube (main attachment), the floor sweeper piece and a small edging tube attachment. I could be wrong and people may actually be missing something but just wanted to try to clear up for anyone if I could.

Cute replica of the real Dyson!
Got this as a gift for a 1 year old and she loved it! The details and colors of the toy are almost identical to the real Dyson stick vacuums! Very good quality, logos are in the right place, comes with a handheld attachment, and has all the right details of the real thing! It doesn't come with batteries (requires 3xAA) but is reasonably priced. It is a little bit loud, so it could scare young ones, but is much quieter than a real vacuum.
