A life saver! I have been learning bridge for six months and these cards make it so easy to follow the theory - now I need to get the practice to a higher standard!

Beginner reviews are the most valuable for a book like this, and I'm not a beginner. That said, I am teaching beginners, and I bought this in the hope that I could recommend it for them. It's a tough task to write a beginner's book, and the concept is a good one, but I'm surprised to find this a bit of disappointment compared with Andrew Robson's other work.What's good is that he takes a few topics - the front page lists them and is visible on the Amazon website - and keeps things simple, so it really is for beginners. What I like less is that some of his lessons are too simple. I don't agree that 'A player repeating the same suit shows 6+ points' (page 8) and I think he misses out the 1NT response to one-of-a-suit (page 9).That said, it is simple, handy, and very readable. But I'm going to buy his Essential Bridge Flipper instead for my bridge students. Anyone interested in buying my second-hand copy of the Beginner's Flipper?
