EPIC
My current pair has lasted 4 whole seasons of rough mountain field work, and I'm still wearing them for the 5th! I am buying a new pair right now as I write this, 'cause they are showing some wear at this point, of course. Some stitched seams are failing, but not to the point of structural failure. The fact that I will still be able to wear these for a 5th season in the harsh off-trail mountain work that I do is a testament to their durability.I will never feel the need to buy any other pants than these, they are that great. The loose fit is exactly what I need for full movement without feeling uncomfortable or restrained. The amount and variety of pockets make these pants exceptional: I have specific pockets best suited for each item: multitool, phone, wallet, edc flashlight, sd cards, batteries, etc, etc.I will be wearing these until my knees give out. And even then, will probably still be wearing them.

Long wearing, comfortable with lots of organization.
Outstanding pants! I love them and wear them almost all the time. They have enough pockets to organize my EDC and the expanding waistband has enough give to make them really comfortable. They last forever. I highly recommend.

Odd design, but comfortable, durable, functional, and above all- They fit!
They actually fit, even after being washed, and in this day and age that's something in of itself. These pants don't seem to shrink in the wash, so I highly recommend ordering your actual size. They're durable and comfortable, however design wise there are a few areas that are funky at best and downright annoying at worst.1. Elastic Waistband - These aren't exactly clubbing attire, so I'm assuming most men purchase them for performing physical activities. I also assume that 9/10 owners wear the rip-stop belt to keep them snug. Physical activities lead to sweat, and elastic waistbands and sweat do not mix. Within 30 minutes on a hot day the waistband will start chafing against your skin. Obviously physical activities vary, but after a long day of riding my motorcycle in the Texas heat these pants rubbed me so raw that I actually had to wear sweat pants to work for several days. A minor gripe for some, but a design flaw all the same. We're not obese, and we're not a 7 year old living in the 80s, so get rid of the elastic waistband. Use the simple strap adjustments like the military grade trousers use.2. The primary fastener is a press stud (snaps). Yes you read that correctly, aput on. Note to designers- That snaps don't belong on adult trousers. snap, just like we had on our pants as kids back in the 80s. I don't think this design flaw needs much of an explanation. On the plus side they do have a standard button fastener directly below the snap, which is great, but leaves the wearer scratching their head every time these trousers are3. Depth of back pockets - Now this one is a bit subjective. I typically keep my wallet in my back pocket. I say typically, because I can't in these pants. The rear pockets are so deep and wide that my wallet actually sits below my butt and shifts around. Not hard to feel a wallet turned sideways below your butt. And when driving in the truck it felt like I was sitting on something. I constantly had to adjust my position to keep it from pressing on the back of my leg. Eventually I just started carrying it in the side pocket. Bear in mind that this is again only a minor gripe, and a subjective one at that. For some the extra large pockets may be ideal for holding tools, ammo, a package of Twinkies, etc..Conclusion- I'm very picky when it comes to recommending a product. Certainly not something that I just hand out whenever something makes me happy. With said, I do recommend these pants. As I mentioned earlier, in this day and age a pair pants that actually fits, feels comfortable, and can stand the test of time, are certainly worth $60 in my opinion. I will be purchasing more of these (in my actual size this time).

Good value, super tough work pants
Man, I love, love, LOVE these pants for work. Durable, tons of pockets to hold the gear I need quick access to for work, and the interior pocket to hold knee padding is a lifesaver. These pants tend to last me a couple of years of heavy use/abuse before they start to look like replacing is necessary. The quick dry fabric is really nice - I don't mind getting wet at work as much as I did before since I know the pants dry much faster than denim or corduroy. Good bang for the buck, I think these pants are worth the extra $

Lighter versions of my favorite TruSpecs
So five stars should tell you what I'll be discussing but I'm also comparing these to my now 5 year champion TruSpec pants.Yes I've been purchasing ONLY TruSpec pants for 5 years now. I still have the first pair I purchased (A little worn but still wearable).I'll be discussing the differences and similarities.Compared similarities first.-MaterialSame stuff. Poly/cotton blend. Feels the same. Looks the same and has the same teflon coating.-StitchingSame again. Double stitching in most places. Hems and seams are all similar and of the same quality.-FitI ordered the same size I've worn for five years in the TruSpecs and they fit great. I'm a tree climber and these provide plenty of mobility and coverage.-DurabilitySince I've only worn them a few days I can't put a five year stamp on them. I feel confident they will stand up just fine.Differences-ColorGrey! That's the main reason I gave these a shot. Grey is a favored color of mine and I couldn't resist.-Pocket flapsThe cargo pockets on the knees and the clip/cell pocket have a cover. The butt pockets don't have flaps though. I haven't given them a good test. I am usually digging wood chips out of most pockets without flaps but I'm hoping the way these are cut will prove to be defensive against those pesky chips.-Waste bandThere are more belt loops. The TruSpecs have a very unique waste band though. It has a hidden elastic band. At first glance you wouldn't notice but it adds a lot of weight and under a belt can be a little painful after a long day. These are lighter and more comfy. I'm not a fan of the scrunchy stuff though.-Pocket ConfigThe TruSpecs also have unique pockets. Well, pockets in pockets. I don't use most of them so they are just added weight for me. I really like the cellphone/clip pocket, it's great! No more fishing for the phone. The butt pockets are a little tougher to get used to. Maybe just a learning curve. I'll report back on an Update. I do like the cargo pockets being lower. They don't get in the way of my climbing harness.-Gusseted CrotchHmmm.... I've never blown out a crotch on the TruSpecs. Never seen a need for a heavier seam. It may take some getting used to. There is a noticeable bit of extra material between the legs but it should soften after a few washes.SummaryOver all I really like these pants so far after two days of wear. Still not sure about the tool strap on the back pocket. May prove to be useful. It doesn't seem to get in the way of the wallet pocket like I thought.Without all the extra waste band material and the extra "Pocket pockets" which I think account for the weight difference, these 5.11s are the ultra light cousins of my TruSpecs. will be ordering a few more pair and wear these out in the field for some real testing and report back with what I hope is some positive findings.

GET THESE PANTS!
I purchased two pairs of these pants for my hubby as he kept ripping holes in his work pants (torn belt loops from key chain hanging, torn knees, worn out button/zipper, holes in pockets-you name it-he did it), and I got tired of patching/re-patching. I love my husband, but, yeah, we had issues those days.. :DI am not typically comfortable with spending 50.00 on ANY pair of pants, much less ones I'm fully expecting to have to replace in a few months because..well, it's my hubby.. BUT (and this is MAJOR)-the original 2 pairs of pants are going on a YEAR of constant wear and tear (he stopped wearing ALL his other pants (including jeans which are not work pants) because they are comfortable, they have the pockets he wants and likes, the woven strip of material keeps his keys attached, but movable so they just slide right out of the way when driving (he used to take them off and on every time he sat down), he hasn't managed to stain (despite dropping chili and spaghetti on them), and they are comfortable to wear even in summer (during the winter he will wear a pair of thermals underneath). He loves them so much, I bought him another pair for his birthday, when he'd lost weight and they were having problems staying up (he fought his belts to keep being able to wear the pants--it was so funny). Since finding these pants, I have replaced all 15pairs of dress pants that he wore to work with 4 pairs (he won't let me put away the two that are too large now).. I can't recommend these pants enough-they are practical, and practically indestructable.

Awesome Pants
I love these pants. They're tough, durable pants with a lot of pockets for your gear and they manage to look good at the same time. I don't know if they'll work for business casual, but they don't have the dingy appearance you get with many cotton cargo pants. My Wranglers don't look half as good as these do. I wear these at work, at home, in town, and pretty much everywhere else I go.The thigh pockets were a bit unusual for me at first, but once I started using them, I found them to be very convenient, especially when I need to drop my phone to use both hands. One cool point about them-the fabric is practically water-proof. Water beads up and rolls off it.The one issue I have with these pants is they're not very comfortable in warm weather. That fabric is great in most respects, but it doesn't seem to breathe well. I'm OK with that. Resigned might be a better word. I live in the South, so high heat and humidity are a daily issue for me, but the durability, convenience, and the smart appearance of these pants make it a reasonable tradeoff.Today, for instance, I wore these pants to go clear some brush and chop down some trees. If you've seen Southern woods, you know what a dense, nasty, impenetrable warren of vines, scrub, trees, poison oak, etc I was dealing with. The pants held up to the abuse like a champ, so it was worth the extra suffering in the %100 humidity and the 1000 degree temps. That being said, there's been a couple times I was out and I wished I brought a pair of scissors with me to just make them cut-offs.Another point. If you buy these pants, listen to all the reviewers here- BUY A SIZE LARGER. They're sized true to their measurements, but they have a bit of elastic in the waist and they just seem to be a bit tight. If you have any hope of carrying concealed or you just want a bit more comfort, buy the larger size. My first pair (I've purchased a few now), I got my exact size. They fit, but I felt somewhat constricted by them. When I tried the pair a size larger, the improvement was obvious. Buy a size larger and learn from my mistake. If you buy these pants, I suspect you'll like them enough to buy more.

Try it, buy many
I originally bought one pair of these pants, then another, and another. Outstanding pants, long lasting, comfortable, practical, and quite durable for real work. 100% recommend.
