Quite literally brilliant
Most torches below £15 seem to make vastly overrated claims about their output and lack both the battery power and heat dissipation to make their wild claims plausible. However the more reputable brands such as LED lenser, Olight, Petzl and Coleman do make reliable amassments of their products light output, but unfortunately they can be eye wateringly expensive. This torch certainly seems to have the claimed light output when checked against both Olight and Coleman models.Light output:Extremely bright, nothing leads me to question the quoted output.Power drain:3 hours quoted (on full power) and given its a 10W LED this is the absolute maximum I would expect.Options: 4 possible, Full power, low power (about 10/20% my estimate) flash/SOS and strobe.Focussing: Spot to flood, yes but strictly limited.Construction:Pleasantly high, appears to be decent quality aluminium and O ring seal to battery compartment.Battery:Comes with 6 Durall AA.Value:RRP of £40 optimistic,£20 very good value,£10 outstanding value for money. In summary a well designed and constructed product that simple to operate. In terms of performance per pound this is like a VW Golf GTI compared with LED lenser or Olight which are more like BMW M series.

no variable power strobe or sos well made torch but the switch no longer works after 6 weeks
where is the variable power strobe and sos on this torch. just switches on and off no other functions and no instructions but well made powerful beam had loads of Duracell torches and been happy that's why I still give it four stars. reduced to 1 star the switch has stopped working very disappointed as I like Duracell torches. if you pay anything near full price its a rip off only paid a tenner for mine including postage thought I would buy another £9 wasted stopped working after a few weeks how Duracell get away with description and quality of this torch is a mystery. maybe they could comment and tell me.

Its not a Mag-LITE
At this time of year we are always searching for torches for those beginning and end of day dog walks so i tend to purchase a couple of cheap main brand torches that I don't mind loosing or lending over the course of the year. Being a typical male i don't want a lantern to illuminate the path I want a lighthouse that can illuminate neighbouring Islands. The Duracell Tough Multi Pro is well constructed for the money but it is let down by a cheap CREE led, loose beam control and poorly designed AA battery hanger which reminds me of some of those Chinese imports. Although you can't really compare it to a Mag-Lite that is over four times the price I do get a little bit imrritritated by the illumination claims. This particular model claims to have 575 lumens, The MAG-LITE TAC with 320 lumens (in the photo) is a quarter of the Duracell's size and is noticably brighter and then there is the MAG-LITE ML-300 LX with 625 lumens (also in the photo) which is of a similar size to the Duracell, well, that's like lighthouse!

Nice bright torch
I purchased this torch because the Led Lenser P7 I purchased was out shone by an old Duracell torch I purchased from a local DIY store. The P7 cost £38.25. The new Duracell cost £29.99. Side by side shining into a set of trees at distance there is no comparison at all. I know the P7 is 450 lumens and the Duracell is 550 but the reviews on the P7 made me feel like it was going to light up the sky, it does not. The Duracell Tough MULTI PRO Series Torch, Extremely Bright 550 Lumen LED Light is bright as it says, lovely and bright. A great torch, very happy

Brighter than our LED Lenser 7.2 - excellent
This is our third Duracell torch - the others are pocket size but the same strong aluminium design. They’ve been our favourite little torches and are still going strong after a few years now. This one is larger and even brighter than our LED Lenser 7.2 torch which cost far more. It is easier to use, too, as it has a simple on / off switch with no need to scroll through unneeded features. Well done Duracell. At the current price this is nothing less than a steal. I’m ordering another while there’s stock left.
