Rosewood Deluxe Bird Seed Feeder, VIT-30653 (packagin may vary )

If the birds in my garden reviewed this they would definately give it five stars. I struggle to keep up with filling it with sunflower hearts as it's constantly covered with birds. It has drawn blue tits, great tits, goldfinches, siskins, gold crests, sparrows, long tailed tits etc. I think this is also down to using sunflower hearts. I have tried various seeds and nut feeds but they go crazy for the hearts.We have a problem with squirrels but they leave it well alone, so I would say it's squirrel proof. It's Easy to fill and not too fiddly to wash. I have just bought a second one.

I bought the product on 14 th June with the purpose of dettering Squirells ,rodents and much larger birds which has to a degree been successfulThe product itself is a fair price and a good productBeing retired I enjoy watching the smaller birds and mean no harm to larger birds but on many occasions I have had 10 pigeons magpies, and have no idea what happens during the nightThese larger birds fly over the patio and sometimes cause a bit of a messThe product design is fine but maybe I could suggest a modification which could assistI notice that for some reason the ports remain open allowing these larger birds and rodents to collect the residue of seed which drop to the ground, not only encouraging larger birds but causing extra expense in purchasing seedPerhaps the company could attache a small plastic cup under the ports which would would not hinder smaller birds and less seed would fall to the ground The ports of course would remain openThis may increase the price slighty but the overall benefits would be beneficial and cause no harm to wild lifeJust a thought.

Pretty good for the price

They claimed this feeder was 'secure against squirrels'. The squirrels ate through the plastic in a couple of days and totally destroyed the feeder.

This was a replacement for an one that looks identical but is several years old. The lid was a very poor fit. I fixed it by bending the wire "catch" so that it held the lid in place. There were rust stains in a couple of places after just 2 weeks. Hopefully it will last OK.

The goldfinches loved it but it IS NOT squirrel proof. The first time I put this feeder out, the squirrel prized the lid open and started gnawing around the top of the plastic tube. SO....I wired the lid shut but the metal is not very sturdy and the squirrel managed to bend it out of shape. Eventually, said squirrel worked out that he/she should bite through my wiring and opened the lid again anyway. It absolutely chewed the plastic tube to the extent that it came away from its fitting....thereby releasing all of the seeds. Threw it in the bin (feeder, not the squirrel). Waste of my money, I am sorry to say.

This is a very nice feeder. It feeds the smaller birds and keeps out the pigeons. I have bought three of these and I'm completely satisfied. Recommend highly.

Das Volk der Gärtner ist immer für inovative Ideen gut. Hier handelt es sich um einen Vogelfutterstation, die alle anderen Tiere jedoch abhält. Allen voran die Eichhörnchen. Dann zu diesem Preis! Absolut empfehlenswert.
