Rather Well Done
Considering the film was based on the manga (ran from 1988 to 1995) and was condensed (as always) for anime form (See: Parasyte: The Maxim) (2014 to 2015) the adaptation does seem sound to me. WHOLE lots of ground to cram down and pare out in order to reach film run times. There have been changes (some slight for direction... ie: Shinichi's dad isn't in the film unlike the anime) but overall I found it to be a very enjoyable experience.Like the anime, the story has been broken up into (2) films. In this set (right for the money if you ask me) you get both and a digital code (as well as standard DVD for sharing! YAY!).Took me a bit used to getting used to Shota Sometani as Shinichi... then again you have to expect the real life to differ from the anime / manga (Still love though the spot on of Light Yagami being played by Tatsuya Fujiwara... who was also in both Battle Royal movies). So this is my 5 minutes of fame. Love it or hate it... it's up to you but personally... I REALLY liked the hell out of it!(Sadao Abe voiced Migi in the movie... and he did an awesome job!)Pick it up!

Different
Parasites are taking over humanity. One of the invaders takes over one boy's hand but couldn't get more. The hand develops it's own identity along with special powers. Eventually they become friends and work together to try to save humanity. I liked the characters and the story. Recommended.

Worth the purchase!
Great movie! Followed the anime pretty accurately. Also loved the option to use the included code to watch it streaming (which I did since I have the Funimation app and a premium account). I definitely recommend if you like the anime.

Arrived on time but no digital code. DVDs scratched.
I'm also upset about my digital code being redeemed before I received it. I bought this movie yesterday. Looks like they might be opening and useing the code. But if they are doing that then why not just take the paper with the code on it out. Update: I ended taking the set to a friend's place once there I found out he only has a DVD player. In what was ok since this set had the DVDs. Put the movie in and it started skipping. Took the disk out to find scratches on the 1st DVD looked at the second and that also had scratches on it. I assume they are unwrapping the set taking the digital codes out and using the DVDs to watch it then rewraping the set.

This IS English!!
I was so happy hearing about the collector's edition for this live action movie. The only problem is that this IS in English! It was not specified in the information area but I just want it to be known that this is in fact in English AND Japanese.
