Watercolor With Me

This is a really beautiful book. Perfect for as I am learning to draw and watercolour. It's really helpful to have the colours listed for each sketch. Many reviewers are complaining that the paper in the book is poor quality for painting but I would never paint in the actual book so it's no issue for me. In fact, not painting in the book and retaining the original sketch leaves me something to copy from in the future. Hugely recommended 👌

As someone pretty new to painting I just love this book so much. It's so much easier to have pictures drawn on watercolour paper right in the book with the instructions. The drawings are so nice too. It's a great way to teach yourself how to paint. I'm shocked how quickly I'm Learning.

Such a beautiful book. Far nicer than i even expected. Beautiful textured and illustrated cover and paper quality inside looks lovely and apt for painting straight into... from a novice point of view anyway. Can't wait to try.

I bought this for me but it was too basic so I gave it to my teenage grand daughter. She has used it and loves it. Nice little watercolour teaching book for a beginner.

This is such a beautiful and motivational book. I’m a complete beginner but have already learned a lot by just painting one picture a day. I’m very proud of my achievements! The paper is super quality and the instructions are easy to follow. Highly recommended.

I ordered this as a present for an arty friend. I’m so impressed with the quality, the paper is thick and the whole book has a very “premium” feel to it. Lots of tutorials for painting various creatures and flowers! I would have happily paid more for this quality. It will make a lovely gift.

The book really is on nice watercolour paper, though I'd describe it more as an interactive tutor book than a colouring book. The instructions tell you which colours to use and how to mix the shades required, which builds success, but you could equally go your own way with it. The sketches are pretty and easy to see but disappear when you paint them, so they look very good. I'd get more in this series.

The book itself is great. But unfortunately the paper quality is poor. The paint and water go straight through to the other side and am unable to blend out paint. There are also darker spots that show up on the paper when painting. I am happy with the book itself it’s just a shame about the paper.

Boom arrived today and is as lovely as the description and photos. I wanted to include a photo of the supply list given in the first pages so others can know what to order before their book arrives… makes a bit easier for planning and less waiting to begin once the book arrives. I looked everywhere for such a list and came across the authors Amazon store to purchase her own synthetic brushes, but couldn’t find an inclusive list. As a beginner, this would be quite helpful. Otherwise, the book is lovely and just what I’m hoping for to engage in a fall craft to learn a new skill. Watercolor has long captivated me, but also terrified me to begin, because I’d heard it’s one of the most difficult art mediums to learn. This book gives clear and easy to follow instructions to help take some of that overwhelm and intimidating nature out of it. I’m excited to start learning, and to learn slowly, giving a lot of grace to embark on the learning curve of making something ordinary, beautiful.

While the book is gorgeous and full of exciting exercises, the paper is of poor quality and does not handle wet-on-wet washes at all. It pills and buckles badly on applying water. I'm really disappointed. I could try the exercises on my Watercolour paper but then what's the use of an expensive workbook? A wasted opportunity in a book of this kind.
