Lacis Publishing The Complete Book of Tatting

This is a wonderful book for all tatters. This book is a valuable reference for the experienced and the perfect book to teach the absolute beginner. You will be shown that there is more than one way to tat. Peppered with very helpful illustrations. I don't see how you can go wrong. I definitely like the way the book starts out assuming you know nothing about this craft, which is essential for a absolute beginner. I highly recommend this one. This is a book that I would rate as a gotta have.

My tatting instructor, who has been tatting for several decades, insists that this is the best overall tatting resource book on the market. It has very clear instructions, so that if you forget what your teacher has taught you, you can recreate the lesson from the illustrations in this book. It also has several simple patterns, and one great one for baby booties. I agree with my teacher, and I use it often.

I have learned a lot from this book since I got it. It begins with by explaining different was for the basic stitch and explains other stitches. There are easy patterns for the beginner and pictures of the finished projects. I have made several bookmark from the patterns.

I have never tatted before and I have to say this book is pretty useless if you're trying to teach yourself to tat. I ended up getting a teacher to get me started because the illustrations in this book just didn't make sense to me. I thought I'd be able to do it because I taught myself to knit and crochet, but not with this book! I have some patterns to use now though.

I learned to tat 20 years ago and got good enough to make some tatted doilies for friends which I had framed and my friends were very happy with their gifts. However after a while I got to the point that I lost interest in tatting. Now, 20 years later, I want to relearn it and so I purchased this book. The photos are half the battle and the ones in this book are top notch. My only reason for not giving it a 5 star review is that the text is difficult to understand.

This book has a lot of good information about how to tat, If u r a beginner it will help you.
