eye heart my pastry blender
Awesome.I read some of the reviews trying to figure out what kind of pastry blender i wanted and opted in for a blade instead of wire. I am not new to baking in the kitchen but i had never bought a pastry blender (or used one) before. SO, i chose this one simply because i did not want to buy one that was rather expensive (nothing is worse than paying top money for a new kitchen gadget, using it, then thinking "eh, i guess it was okay but i will just store it in the very back of my kitchen cabinet." once the gadget is there it will forever be out-of-sight-out-of-mind.)I had a recipe to use for it when it came in so that i could put it right to work. I am so ashamed that i have been using a fork as a pastry blender because this gadget is so much quicker. This was a great buy and i could see where a blender with blades would be better than wire. It seemed sturdy and i simply hand washed it with hot water and soap.As a person that had never had or used a pastry blender i would definitely recommend this one.

Works pretty well for the price
As other reviews mention, the smaller, perfectly cylindrical handle makes it difficult to steady the tool when you're using it on firm dough or cold butter. This means that they tool wants to flop to one side or the other when you're cutting the butter in so you tend to bang your knuckles on the side of the bowl more. Although I haven't experienced any bending of the blades yet, as others have mentioned. I have used it only for pie crusts using refrigerated butter and I was fairly happy with the performance, (with exception of the "flopping"). Some people prefer to use frozen butter, which I haven't tried. Next time I'll find one with a more ergonomic handle that won't flop so much, but for the price this gets the job done fine.

I use it often.
the blades seem sharper on the back side than on the working side. Overall, it does the job, and feels like it will last forever. GOOD BUY.

Biscuits; better packaging need though.
Really nice. I'm sure it will serve me a long time and make loads of biscuits and pastry crusts. I would have given five stars had it arrived intact. Because of the manila bubble wrap envelope one of the blades was bent and I had to straighten it out. A simple post office "If it fits, It ships" box would have fixed that. I rather doubt that would have cost extra for them in shipping, and if it had, I would have happily paid the cost. Otherwise, a great buy.

Does exactly what it's supposed to do.
Great for the price. Just a tad small if you have large hands. Edges are a slightly sharp-ish, but not uncomfortable to use. it is assembled with screws, could get crud inside the handle, but can be opened to cleaning.

After cleaning make sure to dry it off.
Its a screw on handle, so its makes sense to loosen the screws to make sure that cavity is cleaned and dry.

It has a sturdy feel, easy grip and works really well for ...
I have a home based baking business and had always seen these and decided to try one. It makes mixing certain recipes easier but honestly I am too used to doing certain ones with my hands. It has a sturdy feel, easy grip and works really well for the times I use it. I highly recommend it for folding in butter and getting a dough going.
