Pair of Double Row 3”Angled Aluminum Hood Panels (Bolt-on) Kit

These louvers are stamped aluminum and I found that a high-heat spray paint adhered well to them. The bolts were not black oxide as the description states, but are stainless steel. I think stainless is better because you can leave them shiny or paint them, depending on the look you want. I had someone helping me, who mis-threaded a couple of the nuts, which then caused the bolts to break when I attempted to tighten them, so be careful with that. Installation took a couple of hours: choose a location (I used the spot for maximum airflow without cutting into that struts that reinforce the hood), remove the heat barrier from the hood underside and lay it on the engine to catch dropped items or metal shavings, measure and mark, drill holes for bolts, drill 1" holes for corner of cutout area, cut out the sheet metal, mask and paint the raw metal edges, bolt on the louvers, and clean up. I know these louvers will help keep the engine cooler when towing or off-roading in hot weather. In my case, one louver was partially above the battery, so I made a simple rain gutter from galvanized sheet that will let the air out but route rainwater away from the battery.

Sturdy with good hardware

The vents themselves are as they are described. I like them.The hardware is also as described BUT without washers the screws are too long for the locking nuts. Applying 3 washers to each screw just made it tedious but no real complaints.

Very solid, quality part. Easy to install with basic tools, total time was about two hours. They also provided much needed airflow to keep my XJ cool on the trail. Money well spent.

These are thick aluminum and look great on my 1990 Jeep YJ. They really extract a lot of under hood heat.When the Radiator fan comes on you can feel a strong stream of air coming out the louvers. Surface mount made them easier to install.

Good packaging.. came with both vents.. not flimsy .. nice firm metal... with nuts and bolts

Do yourself a favor and throw the provided hardware straight in the trash. The louvers themselves are okish. Just a piece of flimsy aluminum with very cheap hardware. Not worth what they are priced at.
