The scent fits the bill of "dark vanilla" and the vanilla scent was quickly identified by family, though we all agreed the "dark" smelled chocolatey; maybe more something like a chocolate rum. To our noses, the scent is pleasant and mild, able to be sniffed at up-close without an overpowering alcohol- or cologne-type bite.The tree design is super-cute and probably paintable if so inclined. It is able to lightly diffuse scent, but doesn't beat traditional reed sticks in getting the scent out, and thus is best-suited someplace near to where people will actually be, like on a table between chairs.The plastic plug keeping the oil sealed was easier to get off than some others I've tried recently (it both has a plastic plug wedged in and a screw-on piece outside it to ensure the plug can't fall out), though it will likely still be quite difficult for someone with large or arthritic fingers.Overall, very pleased with this one; definitely one of the better scents I've tried recently, and relatively inexpensive, too.

If you are giving this as a gift, take note of the fact that the one I got had very flimsy, thin, packaging that was crushed when I got it.Inside contents were fine, though. It is a reed diffuser that has two cute wooden "Christmas Trees" instead of the usual thin reeds. Scent is not overpowering at all. In fact, it was a little light to me. But, it looks very nice on a bathroom shelf or in the kitchen and the smell is pleasant enough to suit most people.

This little Christmas tree diffuser is really beautiful! I love that it’s shimmery and the smell is clean and nice. It would make a really nice gift for a teacher or bus driver to use for the holidays! I recommend this cute little diffuser!

This diffuser is very cute for the holidays it makes a nice centerpiece or accent on a table. The fragrance is very nice and not overwhelming. But it is also not very long-lasting. This appease is more for visual effects than actually providing fragrance. But I do like that it's I catching and it smells nice for the first few days
