I've seen a ton of these retractable fishing poles pop up, and since I usually keep a few spares poles on the boat, I thought this was a neat way to still be ready for unexpected guests while keeping mindful of the space it takes up.The rod and reel work great, they're definitely on the light side of things, but they've been working extremely well and are much easier to store than a regular pole!

Work good. Easy to put together. I like that it comes with a bag to store everything in. This comes with everything you need.

This pole is nothing fancy -- it's biggest asset is the ability to collapse very small, which is does very well. This makes it great for a bug-out bag, or just something to have for the infrequent fisher-person that doesn't want lots of fishing gear taking up room in their closet or garage.The 145 pieces are, of course, very small but gives you much of what you need to go fishing for small to medium-size fish. This is very much just a starter pack, since the line provided is only 2.5 pounds even though the pole is rated for up to 15 pounds.My only quip about this fishing pole is that I cannot use it. It has a chemically smell and I battle MCS, so I get a headache just being within 8 feet of it. The bag has the chemical smell, and even after a month oa airing out, it still smells. Unfortunately, the smell also made it into the cork grips on the pole, so the whole thing is a NOGO for me. I'll have to donate it to a worthy cause later on. (The smell does not effect my wife who does not have MCS.)Overall, good little portable fishing set, especially for the price. A good buy as long as you're not affected by smells.

I think my biggest complaint would be that the fishing pole's handle doesn't really feel that great, would have preferred a rubberized grip than plastic and cork. However, the pole is functional, and for 35-40 dollars it comes with a lot of extra weights, hooks, lures, and a container to keep them all in. Compact packaging helps a lot, and it would be a great starter set or a nice backup kit for someone who has something more expensive.

Sometimes it's nice to be able to just drop a line for a bit without having to make a trip to the house to gather up a bunch of gear. This isnt a super rod, but it fits easily in the car to just have handy if i want to swing by the creek or the park.
