They should fit, I have a 4 door 2005 E46 325xi and they fit fine.

No. Resistors come with the lights.

They look almost identical. However, 2 door model outer pieces size is a bit different.

I've tried it before and no it won't work, the one's you need are a bit more triangle shape at top.
