Year and a half later...
I've had these for about a year and half now and they are great. The only reason why I'm docking 1 star is because I was never really sure about the "up to 600 degrees F". If I grab tightly on something coming out of the oven, I can feel the heat coming through the mitts. Especially lifting a pan holding something heavy like half a ham or whole turkey. If I hold it for too long, it'll burn the fingers, but it is delayed enough to be able to take it out and set it on the stove top or rack in a comfortable manner. It's only been a problem when I have taken it out and then realized I need to clear some space before setting it down.

Overall good deal, but they dirty easier and are a little smooth for some dishes
Overall for the price, these gloves are a good deal.Pros: - Insulate well - Well padded - Fits a good range of hand sizesCons: - Glove material is smooth so glass dishes without handles can be a little tougher to hold - Fuzzy outside makes gloves easier to get dirty - White color makes gloves appear dirtier when they do get dirty*** Update (July 25, 2013) ***Although I still like the gloves I did notice that my hand got uncomfortably hot holding a 350F cookie sheet for more than a few seconds. I'm guessing that items that have to be pinched to be held compress the glove more and let more of the heat through because I don't recall having the same problem with pots or stoneware.

Very useful
I got these for my mom for Christmas so she would give them a try (she doesn't typically like oven mitts). So far she likes them, at least for lifting more precarious dishes from the oven, like when she's baking a large turkey. I have always preferred oven mitts because I tend to hit the backs of my hands on hot surfaces because I am ridiculously uncoordinated... Neither of us have had any problems feeling heat through the mitts as of yet. They're not hard to use, even with my small hands. My only concern, which isn't really related to the product, is the fact that the fabric is white. These mitts are going to get dirty very quickly. Thankfully they're terry cloth, so they're easily washed and bleached as needed, but white is still going to show wear and tear much more quickly. This is something I could have changed by simply buying a different color, however, so it's really not a knock on the product so much as my not-completely-thought-out color choice. All-in-all, good product, no complaints.

Enormous but shrink a lot...
Ordered these so my parents would have safe oven mitts for lifting hot things in and out of oven and on and off stovetop. The mitts are terrific, and one saw its baptism in fire when my 88 year old father lost his grip on a 15+ pound turkey he was lifting from the roasting pan and (luckily!) caught it with his hand encased in one of these mitts. Into the washer and dryer went that mitt, and when it emerged, it was at least 25% smaller than its unwashed partner. As I said, these are great, but remember that they will shrink a lot. I'm not sure how long they will last, but they performed nicely for my dad on Christmas Day :)

I am a moron and burned one of mine.
I ordered these, and then promptly ruined the pure-as-snow exterior by very stupidly allowing my hand to be on the glass top of stove burner. While it was on. Fortunately, my idiocy didn't result in it going up in flames, but it did leave a nice sear mark which I would consider to be medium-rare. Other than that, I use it for case-iron cookware with no issues. Terry cloth generally seems like its used for its absorbency, like for towels and robes, so I'm not sure why it was used for these, or why I bought them. It would seem like there are so many other better fabrics to use.

Commerical quality. Great for handling very hot and heavy cast iron pans.
These are commercial quality mitts. I had been looking for oven mitts for over 6 months. Every place I looked they were either silcone, thin cloth, or very expensive. These are a great price! I worked commercial kitchens for many years and I have gotten in the habit of using dish clothes to grab hot things. However I also have mainly cast iron now. I can grab a 500+ degree cast iron pan out of the oven with these and barely feel the heat. It is nice to know you will not burn yourself while lifting a heavy pan. It also nice to know unlike a rag this covers your entire hand. This is of similar quality to the oven mitts I occasionally used while working kitchens. I am pretty sure these are about as good as oven mitts get!

1 Product Quantity = 1 mitt, NOT a pair!
I am not rating this 2* for the quality of the mitt itself, which I have yet to test. I am rating it 2* because some of the information and advertising surrounding the mitt is misleading, which led to an unsatisfactory purchase experience for me.To be clear, this does NOT come in a pair if you order a package quantity of 1. The price is for 1 mitt. True, the product details do declare this, and the product title even includes a '1' in parentheses, but these can both be easy to miss. Moreover, the featured product questions refer to the mitt as if it were a pair, and one question's top answer even falsely declares that it comes in a pair for ordering a quantity of 1! Most damning, however, is the featured image (the one you see when browsing products) showing TWO mitts. It's a mix which is bound to catch some people off guard who are not closely vetting each purchase, and I don't think the seller has done enough to combat the false assumption that the product is only a single mitt.

NICE... til you use them.
These are classy and nice....until you use them in real life and somebody grabs the pan of lasagna and pushes the thumb too far over the lip of the pan then - they're finished. The stains don't really come out.... So unless you're detective Scott Turner....you're going to get these dirty and stained, and what once hung proudly in the kitchen for all to see will be sheepishly pulled from a dirty disorganized drawer.I like the color and texture of these.I like the weight and feel and length.I felt confident when wearing these that I would not burn my precious fingers.I would prefer them if they were stain impervious.
