Do not get these wet with hot water. But for me, that does not happen often. I really like the flexibility of these gloves. They are much better than mitts. I am very happy that I have them.

This is the pack of one glove but they are also sold in a pack of two. I already had one I've used for several years so I bought this single glove to go with it for the times I need to use both hands. (An Ove Glove is the same on both sides so it will fit either hand.) They are roomy but still work fine with my small hands. They work like a good potholder but with a better grip, and protect the back of your hand and wrist. Like a regular potholder, the heat will begin to come through after a minute or two but they work well for kitchen, BBQ, etc. uses. They are also easy to use with a regular potholder if you need to hold something hot for a longer time; much easier than trying to hold two regular potholders together.The new glove I received (sold by Joseph Enterprises and shipped from Amazon) seems identical to my old Ove Glove, except the outer material seems a little looser knit, but that may be because my old one has been washed a few times. Unlike what some buyers experienced, my new one has the same tag and hanging loop just inside the wrist, and the packaging looks legit. Joseph Enterprises is the original manufacturer of the Ove Glove so they are a legit seller.Ove Gloves can be machine washed and air dried; don't use bleach or fabric softener. The package doesn't state this but there was a small paper insert with washing directions. They get excellent ratings on Consumer Reports and are a useful kitchen item. I've also ordered the pack of two to give for a gift.

Fantastic. I bought them kind of as a joke, since they're from the same company as The Clapper, but they work really well. I like that there are individual fingers, which allows for much better control of a heavy pan than you can get from a typical oven mitt. I haven't tried anything silly like holding a super-hot pan for minutes to see if heat eventually comes though, but in normal usage I don't feel any heat from a pan.The material seems quite porous, so they're probably more prone to soaking up spilled stuff than a normal oven mitt, which might mean you need to washing them more frequently if you've messy. I haven't needed to wash them yet, but the instructions say to machine wash in warm water and air dry, so if remembering to not toss them into the dryer will be a problem, then maybe that's a problem?

I first got a "pair" (they're sold individually, so I got two) as a gift for my sister. She loved them, so I ordered another pair for myself. They're perfect. I stuck a magnetic hook on the side of my fridge and hung them by their handy loops. I can confidently handle metal or glass containers straight out of the oven, microwave, and multi-function countertop appliance, without getting burned.I often eat away from the kitchen. At those times I wear both gloves to carry the bowl or plate and when I get to where I plan to eat, I just slip off one glove, letting it stay under the container to protect the table.I absolutely recommend the `Ove Glove, and would suggest getting two.

So far this glove works fine for protecting my hand from heat when I remove things from the oven but I nearly returned it because the fit is very strange. The fingers are narrow and tight while the palm area is huge and short. I can't picture a normal hand that this would fit well on. That said, it's much better than the very bulky silicone oven mitt that I wanted to replace.

I've had the early version of these heat proof mitts and it was way past time for another pair. Although I like the heat resistant strips that has been added, they are still wonderful to fit your hand perfectly so that you can handle hot, out of the stove, items.

I bought 2 pairs in case one was air drying after being washed. Best oven gloves/mitts I have ever used. Very heat resistant and with the grips nothing will slip out of your hands. Elaine
