Q: Are they see through?

No. I have tried two colours and sadly they are not. I don’t know what type of squatting other people do, but I am an ass to grass weightlifter and spend most of my training time with my arse sticking out. These become markedly transparent as you go into a deep squat. Maybe ok for yoga or cutting about town as they are comfy and seem well made

Q: Is the fabric on these leggings like cotton or do they lean towards silky / shiny type fabric?

Hi, the composition of the fabric is SOLID:86% Nylon 14% Spandex, SPACE DYE: 87% Polyester 13% Spandex. We didn't use hard and shiny fabric. The handfeel of the legging is soft and comfortable.

Q: I am 5' 7" and a UK size 10-12. What size do you recommend?

I'm 5'6" and 10/12 and bought medium. Nice comfy fit for me and legs definitely long enough. If you like your leggings tighter then go small.
