Removable stainless steel grinding core makes cleaning easy
I have been using this electric burr coffee grinder for a few weeks now as I wanted to put it through its paces before writing an honest review based on my experience. I am a hard core coffee lover and my while my wife doesn’t drink coffee she loves the smell of fresh ground coffee wafting throughout the house in the morning so this process has been a hit with both of us. This little grinder packs a lot of features into a tiny footprint (approximately 4x6 inches) and looks great doing it. It has great styling and looks great on the counter without taking up a lot of space if you have to leave it out. I am particularly impressed with the flat burr grinder which is superior to blades for bringing out the flavour and richness of the beans and doesn’t create a lot of heat which can affect the beans and flavor. With this machine’s 28 grind settings anyone can customize the grind to their favorite method of coffee preparation from espresso, to drip, or french press. The hardest part is remembering which grind setting is for what use. I like that the grind size is easily adjustable by rotating the hopper. Since I am the only coffee drinker in the house the ability to grind enough for only 2 cups is convenient so that I can grind it fresh daily, but I appreciate the ability to grind 12 cups for when family comes over. I wouldn’t call the grinder quiet but it gets the job done pretty quickly and you simply press the button and walk away. This grinder has well thought out additons for cleaning and convenience like the removable stainless steel grinding core and the anti static jar for the ground coffee. Our old burr grinder would eventually clog as the oils and pressure can create a solid paste that can get trapped in corners and must be practically chiselled out as it is tough and solid. The removable core on this unit allows me to get easy access to those solid build ups and clean them out regularly. While I am still getting to know the perfect grind setting for my tastes and I am exploring some new grinds by bringing my french press out of storage I am loving my new burr grinder and would recommend it as it provides great value for the price.

Grinds exceptionally well, but with some drawbacks.
The first drawback is that, unlike a standard top-fill blade grinder, the burr is completely contained so it's virtually impossible to clean any of the internal components. Beans go in the top, grounds come out the bottom and there's no access to anything in between. Obviously if you rarely clean grinders anyway it's not an issue; but for some people who are as fastidious as I am, it can be problematic, especially if there's a clog (which I haven't encountered yet) or component malfunction. The other obvious drawback is that the bottom reservoir for the grounds has corners. I know that sounds like a funny thing to mention, but if you've ever handled fine grounds before, you know just how tenacious they can be. Without the long and flat brush that's included with the grinder, good luck trying to get them out. And if you're using a scale to measure out an exact amount of beans....well it's just not as precise. Another thing that I find a bit annoying is pulling out the reservoir tray itself. Since the lid is really kinda cheap (and poorly designed so that you have to stick your finger into the inlet hole at the back in order to pull it off), there's a little indentation on the top to accommodate a safety switch on the underside of the main unit inside of the cubby. That tiny metal switch acts like a pin and tends to get caught on the lid, making it more difficult to pull in and out. I've learned to get used to it over time, but when you're groggy in the morning, it can be aggravating sometimes. The last drawback (and I promise I'm getting to the good bits), is that there's no internal storage compartment for the power cord. That's not great if you normally store your grinder(s) in the cupboard like me, so it's possible that you may just need to leave this one out on the counter. The overall size isn't THAT much bigger than a blade grinder (perhaps an extra 33%) so it's not huge, and you can KIND OF wrap the cord around the bean hopper, but it would've been nice if it at least came with a molded indentation for the cord in the bottom like so many of those older models. Alright, now to the pros. Firstly, it does an amazing job at grinding beans and the way you decrease the fineness is simply by rotating the hopper. Super easy. The red dial on the top (which is very stiff btw) essentially controls the run-time before it shuts off automatically (which is a great safety feature imo). So there's your quantity control. The grounds are all consistently milled, and the volume is just below that of a blade grinder. So reliability appears to be GOOD. Love that you can essentially just hit the power and go about your business without having to count in your head to adjust the fineness. Unfortunately, if you're only making coffee for one each time, I'm not sure this is the grinder for you. Smaller blade grinders are far more efficient imo, with shallower and rounder reservoirs that are easier to empty and clean. However, if you're regularly making several cups or a full pot, I actually prefer a burr grinder because of the consistent fineness and convenience of not having to wait around holding a button. The size isn't that much larger so it doesn't take up a huge amount of space and the aesthetics are attractive enough to leave it by the coffee machine and no one would bat an eye. Volume is OK (although it's a far lower frequency than a blade mill), and the unit doesn't dance around while it's working so counter vibration isn't an issue. Since the bean hopper rarely - if ever - gets dirty you never really have to clean it, so the only part you'll want to wash now and again is the upper mill and reservoir so it's doesn't get stained over time. It's a bit more work, but honestly not much more. Overall, I still have to say that it's well above reproach this grinder. The tray is a bit annoying to take out sometimes it's true, but function has been great to far. Definitely can't clean the internal components so if there's ever a clog it'll be a hassle to take apart (potentially even dangerous), but I'm sure there would be indicators like a change in noise or grind consistency long before that happens. Ease of use is wonderful and you can really dial in the fineness, but cleaning out the last bit of grounds from the tray corners can also be a pain. If the included brush ever gets lost or breaks, you'll need to replace it with another LONG one that's for sure. Can't say that it'll replace my trusty blade grinders for single cups, but for gatherings over the holidays, this one is simply better. 3.75/5 stars.

Very compact and excellent value.
We have owned several conical grinders, but this is the first flat burr grinder I've owned. While I'm not particularly serious about my coffee and espresso, I value repeatability and durability. I need to find a grind setting that works and achieve consistent results each time. I want a machine that will last over 10 years and has replaceable burrs. We'll use this coffee grinder for flavoured coffees, as a backup to our primary grinder, and as our travel grinder, as it's compact enough to take to a cottage or hotel. The initial setup was somewhat awkward. At times, it was challenging to align the top plate of the grinding disc in the grinder and attach the bean reservoir. It took trial and error to figure out how to get it to lock in quickly and easily. This grinder is incredibly compact compared to our regular one, and it features a different type of grind plate—ours is conical, while this one is a flat disc. It's quieter than our usual grinder, but I wouldn't classify it as very quiet grinding. Initially, I set the grind to medium for 5 cups, and after grinding, I used a measuring spoon to check the amount. Visually, the grind appeared significantly finer than medium and much less than I expected for a 5-cup quantity. However, every grinder has quirks; this one underestimates the grind size and overestimates the quantity. The reservoir had a small amount of static cling with the coffee grounds. Once I understand this machine's particular quirks, I'm sure I'll like it. However, getting the grind and volume I want for now requires extra work. I have yet to find direct replacement discs for the grinder, but I will update you if needed in the future. Despite its shortcomings, it's an excellent value and easy to recommend.

Versatile and affordable burr grinder for beginners and coffee enthusiasts alike
I’m really pleased with this electric burr coffee grinder as it has already helped improve my daily coffee routine. So far, I’ve used a very simple and compact coffee grinder and was ok with that, but since getting this grinder, I cannot but wish I had gotten it sooner. It’s a great option for anyone looking to step up their coffee game without breaking the bank. As many will know, burr grinders are often pricey, but this one offers excellent value for its performance. It’s pretty compact, easy to use, and provides consistently ground coffee across a range of settings. Specifically, it has 28 adjustable grind settings so you can fully customise the grind size from fine to coarse for French press, for example, ensuring you get the best flavour extraction for your preferred brew. I especially appreciate how simple it is to operate: just load the beans, select the grind size and number of cups, and press start. The machine will do all the rest. Also, compared to other older grinders I’ve experienced, this one is relatively quiet and works quickly. However, as with most things, it has a few minor drawbacks. So far, I’ve felt that the coffee grounds container tends to be a bit messy—grounds can stick near the opening or sometimes spill when I try to transfer them. It’s not a dealbreaker, though, but perhaps something to consider if this was to ever be redesigned. Additionally, while the grinder is easy to clean overall, you may experience a bit of a static cling occasionally which will make clearing the grounds perfectly on a fiddly side. Despite these small issues, the grinder feels well-made and reliable. It fits in my kitchen perfectly, and the hopper holds more than enough beans to meet my needs. In fact, it can hold enough grounds for up to 12 cups of coffee! I’ve been experimenting with different grind settings, and so far, all have come out tasting fresh and full of flavour. To sum up, this is a stylish, functional, and affordable coffee grinder that’s perfect for beginners and coffee enthusiasts alike. While there’s some improvement with the grounds container, this grinder presents excellent functionality and value.
