Q: Why are the litter champ refills no longer on amazon?

Hello. The refill pack of 3 is currently for sale on Amazon for $19.30. I like using them because they are convenient and slightly fragrant helping odor control. However, I also use regular tie tall kitchen garbage bags which with a little fussing can be placed down inside with edge wrapped over the interior circle. It is economical and not that tricky to use.

Q: Can anyone compare this to the litter genie? Are they about the same size? Are the refill bags longer? litter genie refills are expensive =(

I have not had a litter genie, but I have other products very similar to this. This is much bigger than anything I have used before. The bag is a single ring which you tie off to size - it has a handy built in razor to cut the bag loose when the chamber is full. I clean my box twice a day for one cat & find I have to empty the chamber about once a week. It is easy to shop around for the refills and have found pretty good prices for them. It is also nice the these bags are biodegradable plastic - still sturdy enough for their purpose here.

Q: The product comes with one bag. This bag is supposed to last 3-6 months?

I was not happy with the whole unit, If you use one bag for 3 - 6 months it will end up with bugs in it. I bought extra bags and could never get them to come out right. I would not buy this product

Q: How wide is the opening? I'd like ot get a different scoop to use with the Litter Champ, but I understand a lot of scoops are too wide for the Champ.

The scoop that comes with fits the opening perfectly. You could take it to a store and try to find a different one. But too big and you won't be able to use it to push the inside lid down and empty it into the bin cleanly.
