Streambar SE: 4K Streaming & Dialogue Enhancement, Black

I have 3 of these. The first one I might've bought from Argos years ago, but they are less obtainable now (?). The fact I have 3 of them speaks for itself. Improves normal TV sound into a richer sound all round. They are a Streambar, so it's like a platform where your apps are grouped on the main screen, and you have a seperate menu for navigating round the main interface - all very appealing, solid, easy to use, easy to set up, good, solid, stable connectivity, coming with an hdmi to link to the TVs hdmi ARC port.. It sits very neatly, unobtrusively on a shelf as it is a compact size that packs a fair punch. Comes with an easy to use, attractive remote control- with speech search facility too. I have a powerline adapter that is configured to my main internet hub in another room which provides a good solid WiFi connection where I have placed the streambar. Connecting to my WiFi too was a straight forward operation providing internet stability. 5 stars out of 5. I did have to purchase a US to UK plug adapter, but that was no big deal. Very pleased with these Roku Streambars. I don't know why they aren't more popular 🤷🏻‍♂️

This is a US device and comes with a US plug attached - it comes with an adaptor so you can plug it in in the UK and we managed to get it up and running, but BBCiplayer wouldn't work. After a lot of fiddling about and then some searching I eventually discovered that it's not on the BBC's list of approved devices, so there is no way to get BBCiplayer to work on this device. We've sent it back, because it's no use to us if we can't access BBC content.

Bought the Roku Streambar SE to enhance the sound on content played through streaming - especially Music (Spotify & Apple Music) - fulfils that goal. However the device was shipped with a US plug (I think it was US, Might be Europe) - suffice to say it doesn't wok in the UK without an adapter.... hence the 2 star rating

I'm quite happy with this purchase. It's a great streaming device and the sound from it is nice and loud, exactly what I was hoping for. I used this device to replace a Google TV dongle and Sanyo soundbar for my garage TV. The soundbar was too quiet for playing musing or watching anything, while working in the garage. I'd be washing the car and the sound of running water would drown out the soundbar, even at full. The Google dongle was only good for streaming content from my phone, so I'd have to have that somewhere close. This device, all in one, solved all my problems, including having Apple Home Kit built in. I love this device, it streams all the apps, it's nice and loud, I can cast to it if I need to or it works just as a bluetooth speaker (I don't think I'll ever need it for that).

I have a number of Roku devices including 2 original Streambars, 2 Roku surround sound speakers, a discontinued Streambar Pro, and a 4K Stream Stick. I needed something to enhance the sound of a Hisense TV in a guest bedroom. You could literally turn the volume almost all the way up and barely hear it. Since Roku hasn't disappointed me yet, I decided on a Streambar SE. What a big difference it made! The sound is so much better without straining the volume on the TV. Its small and unobtrusive if your space is limited. It even has a little bass to create some depth. I am only using the SE as a soundbar/speaker, so I can't comment on the picture quality of the streamer. Very easy to hook up too, just one HDMI cable into the TV's ARC input and then plug into the wall. For the price (I bought it at $79) you really can't beat this little soundbar. Another great Roku product!

This sound bar solved a big problem for me. I got an Epson projector for my kids, which was great quality and reasonably priced, but speaker was incredibly awful and it only had one HDMI input and no sound inputs. The Roku sound bar was the only thing I found that fixed the sound issue and allowed using all the streaming services with just a single HDMI port available on my projector. I'm not an audiophile so I can't comment on the sound quality, but it's exponentially better than the projector speaker. The Roku services, as usual, are great. It's also nice and small. Unfortunately it seems Roku has discontinued its sound bars, which is unfortunate given their good reviews. If you can pick one up to fix your projector sound problems it's worth it.

My son is really happy with the Roku Streambar SE! It was super easy to set up and use, and he likes having the Roku streaming built right into the soundbar. The remote is simple and straightforward, so everything is easy to navigate without any hassle. The sound quality is also impressive for such a compact soundbar. It makes a big difference when watching movies, shows, and even listening to music. The sound is clear, crisp, and has much more depth than the TV speakers alone. He also likes that it doesn’t take up much space and looks clean with the TV. If you’re looking for something that’s easy to use, sounds great, and combines streaming and a soundbar in one device, he highly recommends it.
