Power2000 Replacement Lithium-Ion Battery for The Canon NB-6L 3.7 Volt 1200Mah

This is a great replacement battery for my camera. I have used this brand in the past and am very pleased with it. It lasts quite a long time before needing to be recharged. I am very happy with this purchase.

I've had to charge this battery every time I've used my camera.

The title says it all... I got mine from Big Mike's. Ordered it on Wednesday, it was at my door on Saturday. I charged it, loaded in my S95 and went downtown for an evening of shooting. I took over 200 pictures, probably closer to 240 or 250 before the battery died. I can't comment on the durability or whether the battery will last as long as the Canon branded one, but at nearly 1/10th the cost I could replace the battery ten time before I've spent as much on one Canon battery. I will say, that the battery looks almost identical to the Canon battery in terms of build and quality. Batteries are cheap to make, what you pay for is the brand name... My advice would be buy this battery, if it dies in a year, buy 9 more and you still won't have spent as much as one canon battery.

The Power2000 rechargeable Li-ion battery fits my Canon PowerShot ELPH 500 HS perfectly. Although it has the same dimensions as the Canon NB-6L that came with the camera, its capacity rating is 1,200 mAh vs. 1,000 mAh for the Canon NB-6L, i.e., it is supposed to hold 20% more charge (energy) than the NB-6L. Since I started using it, I have taken at least 30 minutes of hi-def video, plus at least 50 still photos. The camera's battery meter shows that the battery is still fully charged (although, that may just be an indication of an inaccurate battery charge meter).

Item posted was shown and described as a power 2000, however i received a non branded battery with no name at all. I already had a power 2000 that performs equivalent to the canon OEM thats why i wanted another. The 1100 mAh rating of the one I received is less than what was shown in the picture.This one misses the mark unfortunately in terms of number of shots ie battery life . I found this out on a recent trip were I shot over 800 pictures on a Canon s95. It served as a adequate backup but I would have returned it had I not needed it for my trip. It's not the battery that I ordered.

Even though this is off-brand, I haven't noticed that it holds a charge any less than a regular Canon battery. Huge price difference between this an an officially produced battery. Well worth the money, even if it was slightly less powerful!

There is not a whole lot to say about this battery except that it works just like the Canon original with added capacity. I have not noticed any performance differences. I am always fearful of bad batteries causing damage to expensive devices, so I tend to use these third-party batteries sparingly. In this case, I was less concerned since I have had other batteries from the "PowerXXX" brand.

I am forced to rate this a 1 Star because Amazon continues to allow the seller to substitute an inferior replacement battery with a lower mAh rating. Yes, it's Canon NB-6L compatible but it is not the Power2000 product shown and described on the Amazon web site. You know, the one you thought you were purchasing. Read the other negative reviews, I'm not the only one. Shame on Amazon, shame on the seller. It is cheap, and normally would not bother, but I am requesting a return.
