Great quality - but...not an ideal match for the T1 -more volume please!!!!!!
Like other users I find the quality good, but it simply hasn't enough power to drive the T1. As a Beyers Dynamic product you would think they would have sorted this -especially as its recommended for that particular headphone. Bearing mind how I will use this, the volume is just about acceptable -although I'd prefer more...or at least the option. As for the quality of the sound -It's fine.

beyerdynamic Impacto universal high-end.amp.
Returned this item as there was no provision for using with anything that required a 3.5mm audio jack.Lots of other connection leads but as I have several units with 3.5mm inputs could not use this.Sent off and bought various adapters but they did not work with this so was not suitable for my needs.

More versatile than it appears.
This is an impressive bit of kit that has flown under the radar. There are hardly any internet reviews and next to none uk retail stockists. Let me assure you though the Amazon price is more than competitive. The lack of reviews and the apparent limitation to Beyerdynamic top end headphone made me um and ah for some time. I am glad, really glad I bit the bullet.I bought this to use with Amiron Home. I was primarily interested in the amp side of things as the source is FiiO x7ii which has an excellent dac. I do also have, and love,an Arcam rhead headphone amp But wanted to be able to sit, slob out, whoever I want when listening to music. I also wanted to be able to listen to high quality audio via my iPad.Well it works a dream plugged it into the iPad initially and the iPad turned itself into a high end dap. Something rather nice to be able to read the paper and listen to sublime audio on the same device. I then hooked up the FiiO and used both Hiby music and USB Pro as the music apps. In reality it’s plug and play,it just works,no tweaking,it just works. Brilliant! And how it works, power by the bucket load and a wonderful clear, insightful presentation. Sound is quite delicious, you will not be disappointed. The device is tiny. You don’t have to stack or any of that jazz.it takes out the cumbersome side of it’s excellent competition, dragonfly, mojo,Oppo HA2. It is just so easy to use and feels more like an in-line remote than a dac/amp. It pairs beautifully with Amiron Home which do need amplification. Now,the main plus of this device over the competitive mentioned is also its archilese heel. It sits seemlessly between the headphone and source...provided the headphone is Beyerdynamic. And that’s how it’s marketed any review presents it. Dragonfly, mojo etc,can be used with any headphone. That limitation cuts out so many potential buyers and perhaps explains why it is not so widely available. It is also not really true. Far from it. A good review on this page refers to the fact that it can be paired to some Sony Headphones. I would suggest if your headphones have detachable cables, many do,it will work. It uses 3,5 mm jacks into the headphone and I guess the Sony’s do too. I have Nighthawk Carbons and Oppo PM2 which use 2.5 mm connections. Buy a 3.5 female to 2,5 mm male adapter, they cost peanuts, and you are good to go. I used it on the Nighthawks last night. They are easily driven and work great powered from the FiiO direct. But they sound so so much better powered though this bit of kit. So,this device is a dream. A badly marketed dream but a dream in reality..

The most amazing (smallest)portable DAC/amp unit I have used.
The media could not be loaded. Brought this back in December 2017For technical details check amazon description/ beyerdynamic website. Check photo/ video for unboxing. This review will be my opinion only- brought with my own money.I will keep this review short. Long and short of- it’s an excellent little portable Dac&lier- smallest I have and sounds really really good.I have used it for several months before writing this review; The good:Small, very portable; impressively portableSound quality comparable to OPPO HA2SE and as good as Fiio X7 Am5 (amplifier 5 module).Works really well with Amiron, T5p and T1 ( both gen 2 detachable cable) also work with Sony z7 and Sony Z1R. My favourite combo is with the beyerdynamic amiron Home headphone.Sound is not as good as desktop high end headphone amplifier, but for portability this is the best you ll get for this price range or below £500.Build quality- Great - German build. One charge lasts 6-8 hrs. Full charge takes similar time to charge the battery module (universal unit only-essential version doesn’t come with battery pack and hence even smaller)The badOnly universal version will work with Apple products; as the essential version will draw too much power off device and essential version will work with android devices.Due to the way it’s built they are designed to work with selected Beyerdynamic headphones only; for such a good dac/amp unit- this should have been allowed to be used with a dude range of headphones- such a shame about restricting use with certain headphones.Bottom line- if you have the right rig for this amp/dac unit- for portability it’s the best combination you ll get. It’s as good as my oppo HA2 SE ( about the same price) but way more easily carried around. The only advantage HA2SE has is- can use with any headphone of DAP or mobile phone.Other than his I have nothing bad to say about this little unit- it’s sheer brilliance.JUST make it compatible with other headphones and other DAP, and this will have no competition at present! Thanks for reading my review. Hope it helps someone making a buying choice for a portable dac/amp unit. It does sound truely amazing with the right setup!

Amp not powerful enough.
It might of been faulty but I got little volume to power the T1's. Quickly returned.

T5p yes. T1 no.
Excellent for the T5p series. Don’t get these for your T1s, unless you like it really REALLY quiet. Dinged a star as you have to pay extra extortion to work with Apple products.Sound and build are great. Amazing with T5p. Horrible with T1 as to be expected
