Very useful tool
My daughter's 2016 BMW X 5 40e had a check engine light on the dashboard. I checked for 2 fault codes and tried disconnecting the negative battery terminal but could not get rid of them. Until I found XTOOL IP500 on Amazon. It is a great tool and is very easy to use. The auto scan function read 19 fault codes, which I think are accumulated errors. So I used the one-click clear function to clear all DTC codes. Now the check engine light is off and my daughter can drive without worry. So far, I am satisfied with the function of IP500. It supports multiple languages and is very easy to use. The display screen size, clarity and response speed are better than LAUNCH.

Best for BMW diagnostics
I recently got the XTOOL IP500 for BMW and I’m really impressed with it. The setup was easy, and the interface is straightforward to use. It scans all systems quickly and provides clear, detailed results. The bidirectional control and ECU coding features are very handy, especially for DIY maintenance. Overall, it’s a reliable and powerful tool for BMW owners who want dealership-mid evel diagnostics at home.

Easy to use Diagnosis Tool. Rechargeable batt and lots of parameters! Excellent!!!
Excellent diagnostic tool! It can check every system of my car before I take it to the garage so I know previously what is wrong anticipating probable costs. It was easy to configure (easier than a phone) and easy to update (automatic). Very happy with it and I will buy another for my other brand vehicle. This unit if configured for BMW, Land Rover and Mini, my car is a 2020 Mini Countryman and works flawlessly.

Low cost but high performance!
Only scanned 3 vehicles so far. This unit will do 95 percent of the functions for BMW of my scanners that cost 8 times more. This unit is not wireless, so it connects faster and powers the scanner. The more expensive units have to boot up and connect via bluetooth or wifi. I will update as I get more vehicles to scan. Easy to use and fast. You save because you ate not paying for vehicles you don't have. My updates for the top of the line scanners I have cost 3-4 times the cost of this unit. So you get a tool that will diagnose and give bi directional control to troubleshoot any problems. Plus you have xtool support, which has not let me down. Just send a message and they will get back to you. I have several Xtool scanners, best bang for the buck. UPDATE 2017 X5 turbo wastegate install, Has service position for motors to remove and install, plus test and calibration. Way more service options then Autel Ultra scan for BMW vehicles, plus costs less then most scanners yearly update fees. BMW owners and mechanics don't pass this one up. Will let you use all the cars built in service functions.

A must have for BMW owners
This tool is excellent for any BMW owner. We have two X3s and a 320i. It helped diagnose an issue with the 320i and was able to order the part here on Amazon and replace in less than 30 minutes. This tool allows for me to email myself a diagnostic report which is very convenient for diagnosing issues.

False Advertisement
Device showed incredible fast, but horrible when returned. Still haven't received my refund. Device advertise a lie about special functions. Non of special functions, which were marketed, and why I brought, work. False advertisement at it best. Very unhappy, and disappointed overall from the whole experience both product wise and Amazon how the handle the refunds. I would recommend never to purchase this product or use Amazon on this product.

Great device
I needed this to diagnose a 2018 BMW X5. It found and corrected some errors. I hope to use it again when my battery fails and to reprogram it with the ECU. Thumbs ups!

Fairly decent device for your typical DIYer. Built quality seems decent, cable long enough to keep the device on the passenger seat. Screen isn't huge, but more than enough for home use. My only complaint would be that the power button is a bit strange at times and needs to be firmly pressed, not sure if it's my device or all of them are like that. Software offers plenty of options, shows a lot of stuff on my Mazda. The polish translation could have been better though. There are some special functions that allow bi directional communication, allows recording the live data and resetting annoying bits (like oil service light) and faults. I think the device is great value for what it offers, and xtool is really good at balancing that. It does more than other devices in this class. Maybe it has couple of minor flaws, but personally I think you can't go wrong for the price.

Xtool D5 absolutely 💯 brilliant the tool has saved me a lot of money I can easily get fault code and fixes form this D5 OBD. 💯 % value for money. When you get all these lights show up on your dash this tool will tell you exactly what's wrong with codes that you can take to the garage to sort out. It's a money saver for a lot of dri ers. That's all stopping mechanics ripping the everyday driver off with silly pri e fixes quotes.
