This works very well on steel ties. As a first time user of something like this a few basic instructions on the packet of how to use it would have been helpful, it's not rocket science but it's good to know you're doing it right. You do need a good 2 inches of excess tie for this to work so that needs to be taken into account. It cuts the tie off easily and nice and close.This is a review of an item received free as part of the Amazon Vine program. I make my reviews as objective as possible and only award 5 stars if I feel a product is really worth it and is something that I would be happy to buy.

Need two hands to use this, I found it annoying to use really, but it is heavy duty and strong, feels like it won't break easy. It does work, but it's awkward. I actually was expecting this to be pliers for some reason with a cutting mechanic with it, don't see why you should use two levers on opposite ends, when the lever should be at the handle to be allowed to use with one hand. You need two to get this to work. I just didn't like it's mechanics, but I liked the strong hard material. There is no guide in the box.

This review is for metal ties tensioner and cutters, branded ABSupus, priced at £24.59 when reviewed.I ordered these in error, as I was actually after something for normal plastic cable ties, and this can't be used for those.These are quite heavy duty, though the gap in the nose is quite narrow, which could limit what ties fit. Certainly a small nylon cable tie wouldn't fit in the nose. By squeezing the handles, the tool tensions the tie, and then a small level is lifted that rotates a cutting blade. I do not have any metal ties, but I'm not that convinced how easy it will be to cut, especially with one hand still squeezing the handles - you will probably have to swap the handles into your left hand and use right hand to operate the lever.As I mis-ordered (my mistake), I'm not able to actually try these on metal ties.

Very capable tie gun, works well with our existing 4.6mm ties without any issues at all.It's much the same design as the one that came in a tool/tie combo pack (apart from the name printed on the side), so if you've already got a load of cables to hand, a spare gun is always good to have... especially when you've 'put it down somewhere'!.On a quality/value-for-money basis.... 5-Stars.

Not a lot of instruction to go with but very easy to get the hang of using it. Tighten metal zip ties like a pro and also trim off the excess with the little lever.Don't know how I managed without one before.
