GoodweiMatcha Tea Ceremony Complete Set with Organic Premium Matcha 30g (Shiro)

Since I discovered that caffeine in coffee drives me slightly loopy (more loopy than normal), I have explored just about every imaginable type of tea, my recent obsession was Japanese Sencha. I have previously dabbled with Matcha, but probably made it far too strong, which rather put me off. However, having watched a couple of videos on making Matcha, I was seduced into trying it again. If you were without a soul, you could probably make it in a plastic cup with an electric whisk .... but that would be to miss the point. I don't actually wear a kimono whilst making Matcha (although strangely I do own one :-), but it does help with the whole Japanese tea experience if you have the correct bowl, whisk, scoop etc. So, I have have a few happy zen like minutes as I perform my own Japanese tea ceremony. Getting a froth on the tea with the whisk requires having the prowess of an Olympic athlete, but persist, it is worth it! The Matcha tea that comes in the set is presumably ceremonial grade (more expensive than the cheepie grade used in ice cream, biscuits and most everything in Japan). Use water at 80 degrees C and take your time, watch a couple of Tea ceremony videos. Matcha was a bit of an existential shock for my long suffering wife, although she drinks Earl Grey with milk in, so does not deserve a valid opinion :-) Next I will work on making Dorayaki pancake biscuits to accompany the daily tea ceremony. The tea smells and tastes amazing. Its super fine so it gives off an amazing flavour.Also great in creamy desserts.The holder for the brush stretches the brush a slight bit but using it bends it back very easily.This is a perfect set as a gift.

thsi combo is the best offer and i really love this. the quality of bowl as well as bamboo whisker is really good... also the quanity of tea anyone would prefer is perfectly thought around ... i am going to suggest this to my friends too

Bought this as a birthday gift for my boyfriend who loves matcha! - great design and packaged lovely.

I was quite happy with this set. But on the third cup, the bowl started to discolour on one side, see picture. I really liked my black bowl but now it appear really strange. Also one can wonder where the colour goes and if I am drinking it every time I take a sip? I clean it only with water and with my hand.

It is very beautiful set. Bought one as gift and one to myself.
