Q: How do you take the tangles out?

Tangles? It stays soft unless you get stuff in it. I havent had any tangles though. I use a vaccuum about once a week to get any dirt out of it.

You’re gonna need a lot. It’s thinner then you think. I’m not sure how big your room you’re trying to fill but my room is average size and I think I would need about 24 give or take to fill the whole room. They are long but thin, like a hallway runner.

Q: Can it be cut down to size?

I think it would start to fall apart pretty quickly as it is sewn all around the edges. Throw and area rugs aren't meant to be cut into pieces as they either have a rubber coating or a woven sort of burlap looking coating on the underside. As soon as you cut into that it's going to start falling apart. I guess if you were using something to adhere it to the floor after cutting it would be fine. But if you need specific sizes I would find a place that sells something that is meant to be cut and fit.
