Mornings are the best part of the day
Mornings are the best part of the day! Sure, I’m a morning person, but fefore reading this book, I heard a voice inside whisper, “there won’t be anything new here for me.” Another lesson in, “Wow. That voice was so wrong. Glad I didn’t pay attention to it.”This book is packed with practical ideas and step by step suggestions to apply towards making change in addiction and recovery. I appreciate how they connect the dots between the individual with addiction’s vulnerability to the intensity of their feelings guiding their life, and specific tools to apply to one’s morning routine that change one’s feelings about one’s life. Applying any of these suggestions supports the gradual shift of prioritizing one’s behavior, over one’s feelings, which is so important in the addiction/recovery transition. Anna and Joe’s claim about using morning time wisely is reflected in the accomplishments and contributions they both have made in the world - their suggestions are time tested. Check this book out!Additionally, when you apply Dr. Mate’s broad definition of addiction to this book, “any behavior that gives you temporary relief, temporary pleasure, but in the longterm causes harm and has some negative consequences, and you can’t give it up despite the negative consequences,” the group of people these suggestions apply to, exponentially expands.

LIFE CHANGING MUST READ
I'm not an addict but I had a very unhealthy relationship with food and have family members that have been addicts in a variety of forms. I love this book not only as a resource to support others whom are in recovery, but especially for those going through recovery. It's not easy to let go of one way of being in which you deal with life through substances and numbing out. There's a lot of feeling, a lot of life, a lot of everything, especially your emotions - this book not only helps to make sense of those, but to give you structure and a set point, a resource to make sense of it all and to give you guidance on what to do and each step of the healing process. I highly recommend this book to anyone in any type of recovery or just feeling challenged by life and letting go of harmful habits, beliefs and ways of being, living that aren't serving you, but are now hurting you. Joe Polish is an incredible man, whom was an addict and has turned his entire life around and has dedicated it to serving others. I'm going to be buying several more copies as gifts for others. Thank you for writing this book and sharing your collective experiences and insights to help others on their journey!

I didn’t get sober to live a mediocre life—this book is my roadmap to living full-out!
I never thought I would be a morning person—even my two young children sleep in until 8am—but using the tools and strategies from this book, I have grown to LOVE my morning routine. If I don’t follow it now, my whole day feels out of whack. When I got sober a little over 2 years ago, I began to feel this pull to use my experience to help others who are struggling with active addiction or those who are already in recovery. I’m working toward writing my memoir now and what was feeling like such an overwhelming, daunting task now feels much more managable after reading The Miracle Morning for Addiction Recovery. Waking up even an hour earlier than normal and starting my day with the grounding practices given in this book has truly changed my life. When I got sober, it sure as heck wasn’t so that I would continue to live a mediocre life. This book is giving me the guidance I need to fulfill the promise I made to myself at the beginning of sobriety—to never settle for a life that is less than what I’m capable of living, to be of service to others in need, and to live full out with passion and purpose. I’m so grateful this book has gifted me with the roadmap I need! Highly recommend for anyone who wants to level up in their recovery!

I have struggled with both mornings and addiction. This book is a game changer for both transforming the way you start your day and live in recovery. I was blown away by Anna and Joe's authenticity, powerful practices, vulnerability, inspiration and how they are contributing to the world. This book is geared towards anyone in recovery or struggling with any form of addiction, and is chock full of added tools, wisdom and helpful ideas to utilize in your life journey. My recovery from food addiction is a daily practice, and this book has become an integral and crucial aspect to my recovery and living a life of freedom and empowerment.

A fantastic guide and inspiration
This book is a fantastic guide and inspiration for anyone in sobriety -- new or long-term -- who wants to kick-start their day. If you're not a morning person, but you want to be, this is the book to help you do it. And for someone like me, who has always worked to make the most of my mornings, there are new ideas and great advice to be had. If someone had told me before I got sober that I could develop a morning routine that would set me up for success all day, I would not have believed them. But now I know that not only can it be done, it really works. This book gives smart, practical advice that will change lives.

Excellent tools for taking it one day at a time
This is a wonderful book for any recovering addict. It confirmed for me what I have experienced in my recent recovery. How I start my day is the most important thing for my well being. If I start my day the old way, by diving into addictions and the rat race of the world. I stay in the frequency of addiction. I love the stories from Anna and Joe. They make the recommendations of the book relatable. So many self help books give you a recipe that you should follow. The reality is that we are all different humans, and cookie cutters for things like this selcom work. I love all the stories about how different people start their day a little differently, but all those different ways have core commonalities. Wonderful book.

The Missing Link
I write this review from the perspective of having a close friend who has struggled with different addictions for almost three decades and is still trying to find a way out. It's been heart-breaking to witness. As a huge advocate for Hal’s original best seller 'The Miracle Morning' I was thrilled to hear the rumours that a book aimed at helping addicts and those in recovery to become free and live flourishing lives, was going to be hitting the shelves this year. On first reading I thought this book was aimed at and would only useful for ‘functional addicts’ (i.e those who are typically able to hold down a job and a family...) but on reading it a second time, I think it’s reach is much wider. For some people their addictions have resulted in sickness of varying levels which require medical intervention, close supervision, formal rehab programs and so forth, and I believe this book has the potential to be the missing link and serve as a catalyst for sustainable change. As a practitioner of the Miracle Morning's S.A.V.E.R.S. routine for nearly 100 days to date and seeing the incredible change personally of owning my mornings, I can hand on heart say that whether you’re an addict (or 'simply have some bad habits' - like not taking control of your morning routine!) then you are missing out on realising your potential no matter how successful you think you are right now. Consequently you personally lose out, let alone the countless number of people your life could impact for the good. The role of an accountability partner is cited frequently and I believe it is especially vital for those in recovery, so why not get a copy of this book today and ask someone to support you in your journey to full recovery. Or, like me read it yourself then give it to someone you know and offer to walk them through it.

Wisdom of experts made accessible
Hal, Honoree (authors of previous books from the Miracle Morning series) were this time joined by Anna David who’s is an author and speaker on the topic of addictions and recovery and Joe Polish who is a successful entrepreneur and went through drug addiction recovery himself, all passionate experts who know what they are talking about. For those who read the previous book there is a lot familiar structure but plenty more material and helpful ideas. For everyone who is trying to fill the void after coming back from rehab or trying to redesign their days with a new structure this is the book to read (even if you normally don’t read you will enjoy it) ! It explains step by step the basic ideas and helps to establish the new routine, points out/warns about possible (obvious and less so) traps to look out for.Statistics vary but the percent of addicts relapsing from their treatment plan is very high with the biggest struggle being creating new habits in an old environment. This book will give you a great structure to help you get into the right frame of mind ASAP.On top of the Miracle Morning SAVERS it introduces you to principles and skills that help you create the foundation and build a new routine. Definitely take up the 30 day challenge explained at the end that you can embrace with a fantastic Miracle Morning community!Deepest gratitude for the excellent work !
