Quality jacket, but pricey
My spouse loves this jacket. In our hot and humid climate, he has high hopes for its breathability; the pit zippers are ingenious. The extra large size fits him perfectly, and the pockets are sufficient for his phone, keys, and wallet. It's lightweight and well-designed; the velcro cuffs allow quick and easy adjustment. I would have rated this five stars except for the price, which I think is high even for the excellent quality.

Excellent waterproofing and sizing
I ordered the MARMOT Men's Precip Eco Jacket in size XL and color Steel Onyx.I'm 6'2", 220 lbs, with 44.5" chest, 36-38" waist, and 43.75 hips. I also have long arms which is often an issue when buying long sleeve shirts or jackets. This rain jacket fits extremely well including the lengths of the arms. I tried it on directly over my shirt and it it well. I then tried it on with a hoodie sweatshirt underneath and it still fit well. You can roll up the hood and store it in a cover that sits above it and that closest with a velcro attachment. The armpit vent zippers have an outside protective cover over them so you could have them fully unzipped and probably be fairly well protected from water.Infiltration depending on how you've got your arm positioned. There's also an internal cover for the zipper that will help protect from wind and water infiltration when the zipper zipped up.All of the zippers work great. There are windblock swaps on both the inside and the outside of the main zipper and the flaps on the outside or hell down with velcro. The jacket is extremely lightweight. The side pocket zippers work well and the pockets are big enough to hold your cell phone as well as gloves at the same time.I did a water infiltration test by holding a sleeve and its seam underneath warm running water and after a minute I got absolutely no water and filtration. When I shook the jacket off, I could hardly tell on the outside that I'd done a water test at all. There were no instructions online on the product page or in the package to indicate how to store the jacket in its own pocket. What you need to do is find the side pocket that has two zipper tabs, with one on the outside and one on the inside of the zipper. On my jacket, thus is the left pocket. This is the pocket into which you want to stuff the jacket. You will stuff the jacket into the pocket from the inside of the pocket, not from the outside. Mine fit easily into the pocket with room to spare. Once packed in the pocket, you will have a mesh bag with the jacket inside and a little tab that can be used to attach the mesh bag to your pack.Overall, 5 stars from me.

Not bad but….
….its very light. Similar to a wind breaker. I DO NOT like the interior mesh area that appears to be an inside op key but is not stitched along the bottom.

Much Lighter and Packs Down Compact
When walking in the rain near home, you can wear a trench coat if you like, you're likely not lugging it in your pack for days a time. My Wife and I enjoy 2-4 week backpacking trips in France each year, hiking town to town, camping as we go. We try to keep it light.Unlike our home area, we get rained on Spring, Summer or Fall on our trips. This new MARMOT Men's Precipitation Eco Jacket has just shaved almost a pound off my load, thanks! On my home scale it weighed in at 10.3 ounces, compared to about 25 ounces for my rain jacket I've been using for years. Being lighter and thinner enables it to pack down to almost 1/2 the bulk of my other jacket. Folding it into one of it's inner mesh pockets, it got down just larger than a 16.9 oz. water bottle, about 8" long X 3.5" diameter.I'm 5'10", about 165 lbs., ordered the MED, hoping it wouldn't be too tight. It's not. While somewhat slim-cut, I can move freely, and there is still room for a base shirt and a sweater.Like the velcro cuffs. Good, long zippered vents under the arms. The long turtleneck type collar will zip up to your chin to help keep the rain out. The hood will let you keep your baseball cap on, but is not too wide and floppy, it stays where you need it. Hood rolls up easily into the collar. When I first looked at the inside of the jacket I thought great!, two roomy storage pockets for my phone, glasses and wallet. Wrong, they are open at the bottom, seem to serve as your stow bag for the jacket when rolled up. No chest pockets either, dang. You do get two generous side hand pockets with zipper closures. A minor nag is the two pockets provided are mesh. This summer my favorite board shorts, with mesh front pockets, sprung a hole at the bottom, trailing my change after me. Mesh pockets also do not like untrimmed or broken finger nails. Mesh pockets are light, they drain, and I don't trust them to hold up long-term.So a great fitting, well constructed, light and very packable rain jacket from one of the most respected brands around. Excited to hit the trail with it.
