I ordered this so that I would have an abundance of colors for small projects without buying huge skeins of each. For that purpose, it works. It comes with a couple of standard quality metal hooks, a storage bag, some stitch holders and a plastic yarn needle. The yarn itself is a light worsted weight acrylic, and does have a tendency to "split" easily. The colors are vibrant. The skeins are very small, but there's a lot of color variety!

The yarn came neatly packaged and would make a very cute gift for a beginner. Thanks to other reviewers I am measuring the yarn before using it. I am making an afghan and each row uses 30 yards of yarn. I wanted a nice variety of colors and this set is perfect for that. I have only measured 7 of the colors so far. The longest was only 35 yards, the shortest was 26 yards. That one and one other were less than 30 yards so out of the 7 I can only use 5. That's not a very good average. One color had 3 knots, two had one knot and one was cut in the middle so I had to make a knot. So they are not correct in saying they are knot-free. Two of the colors had slubs that will be hard to work with. (Slubs are sections of yarn that are not tightly twisted, making them looser and thicker than the rest.) Like many other reviewers I did not receive information on downloading the free e-books. I didn't buy this set for them but it would have been easy enough to include a slip of paper with that information. Overall I am pleased with the colors, the yarn is of reasonably good quality, the crochet hooks are metal and the yarn needles and stitch markers are plastic. If the yarn length was really 40 yards I'd have added another star.

i almost forgot to review this but i love it !! the book was really easy to understand and the quality of the yarn is decent for beginners. it contains both crochet and knitting utensils just in case.

I liked this product. It’s not the best quality yarn, but it was perfect for what I needed to make, and it came with additional hooks, which is always nice. I would purchase it again.

I brought four of these kits because of all the pretty, bright, and fun colors. It is a great value and it’s really nice that it comes with crochet hooks and needle. It is great for crafting and would make a great gift. The yarn is soft and easy to work with. I will be buying another one in the near future.
