As good as it gets for the A7
Item: JJC HC-S Hot Shoe Cover For SonyThe good- Perfect fit for the Sony A7. Looks good. Feels secure in place. Good and needed protection of the open hot shoe with the A7. Nice design. Free shipping. The bad- Ships from China so there is quite a delay in arriving. Feels like quite cheap plastic for the price, though I don't think there is need for concern of it breaking. The random- N/ARecommended for- Any Sony A7 (most likely other models too) camera user looking to cover up the open hot shoe from weather damage/water getting inside and causing the camera to malfunction like many users experience.Life expectancy- I honestly will get use out of this thing until I swap cameras or models altogether, or have any external devices connected in its place.Should you buy- Yes. This is a must for all camera owners. Even though Sony should include this with the purchase of the A7, they didn't. So this is what we are stuck with.Value for money- 4/5 due to the size and quality of the plastic.Final rating- 5/5 as I could not find this item in person in any stores in Asia, or here in America.NOTE: I did not receive any compensation for this review, or any products of any kind. I just enjoy reviewing things that I have purchased as I spend several hours researching these items prior to purchasing. Hopefully this review will give you some ideas on whether or not this is the right item for you.

Sturdy, fits perfect.
Fits the Sony a6000 hot shoe perfectly. I didn't buy this with the camera because I'm thinking who needs a hot shoe cover. Then I get the a6000 and take a look at the row of very small pins / connectors near the front hot shoe. This will protect them from dust & moisture. We frequently use our camera's outside and on trips where we encounter quite a bit of dust (had to have several cameras repaired because of that) as well as rain. We know from experience anything you can do to help seal up the camera helps. This fits in very snug and yet can be easily removed when you need to deploy an external flash (or external microphone on the Sony a6000). Good bargain!

Fits a6000 Perfectly
First of all, it does fit my Sony a6000 perfectly. Slides in place securely, and is flush to the back surface with no gaps. It's actually strangely satisfying to slide it in place and finally cover up the hot shoe. The only aspect of this that kind of bothers me is that I had to spend nearly 5 bucks on a 5 cent chunk of plastic that Sony should have included in the first place. The a6000 is a really nice little camera that is not exactly inexpensive to begin with, and it just doesn't make sense to me to not include this with the camera. So basically, this ends up being a good solution to a problem that shouldn't exist.

Works perfectly to keep dust and dirt out.
I was worried about getting dust and dirt in the hot shoe, when I purchased the camera it didn't come with it. This was perfect. Fit right in with no issues. Camera also looks much better with the cover than with it being exposed.

needs an easy fix for the A6000
Unlike some others,I did not find this to be a perfect fit for my Sony A6000. In fact, it was too loose and I almost lost it more than once. Fortunately, there is an easy fix. I cut out a small square of notebook paper and put it under the cover before sliding it into the shoe. That keeps it snug enough to be easily removed but won't come out by itself. The need for a fix cost it a star, but is still is a clever idea and fills a need at a very reasonable price. And it arrived earlier than promised.

Peace of mind for cheap.
Bought a used A6000 camera. As I was planning a backpacking trip, I realized my A6000 camera's exposed hot shoe connections could be a liability in a thundershower, and a dust collector. This part solved the problem, and fit perfectly.

Fits like a glove.
Fits like a glove and makes the camera look whole. Also protects it from getting dirt trapped. Not sure why don’t saves a couple bucks and doesn’t add it as part of the camera. Essentially a piece of plastic that slides right in.

Nice quality, good fit.
Accidentally purchased this for use with a Fuji X100F. Only realized after the fact that this is for Sony cameras. Nonetheless, hotshoes are relatively standard in size. Initially, this one protruded a bit out the back on my Fuji. With some quick trimming of the plastic, it actually fits perfectly on my Fuji, and I actually prefer it to another one I purchased that was made specifically for Fuji cameras.

5 stars for the Seller
The product is as described. No issues. But the 5 stars goes to the seller. The courier partner delayed the delivery by more than 2 weeks citing some absurd reason in the status. I had given up hope that it would be delivered. The seller was constantly in touch throughout and finally, initiated a full refund. I received the product after that and asked to either cancel the refund or send me some link to repay. But the seller humbly denied.Thank you for the awesome service.

It's a piece of plastic, but it works
There isn't much to say about this product. It's a piece of plastic, buts it's a well made and durable piece of plastic. It fits a multishoe perfectly and appears to be very secure. Not sure how much weather resistance it has, but I'd guess there isn't much hotshoe protection when you're out in the elements. It a can get very pricey if you lose your covers a lot though.Still it's a no brainer if you are missing the cover on your hotshoe.
