GB Boy Colour is a great way to play those great old Game Boy Cartridges!
I should first say that this order was delivered to me a almost a week earlier then what I expected which made me very happy. As this package was shipped from China, I was certainly grateful for the extra bubble wrapping that surrounded my GB Boy Colour. It arrived in my USPS mailbox completely intact and undamaged. I really enjoyed a lot of titles on the both the Game Boy and Game Boy Color. The biggest problem with those units was always lighting. This unit solves that problem.I am having a blast going through my whole GB and GBC cartridge collection and replaying some of those titles. I have yet to encounter any compatibility issues with the OEM cartridges.GBC titles especially benefit from the back lit screen. For example, I never noticed what a beautiful and colorful game Super Mario Brother Deluxe was until I played it on the GB Boy Colour.Krikzz's EverDrive GB X7 multi-ROM cartridge (an aftermarket non-OEM product) also worked for me as well. Though make sure you have fresh batteries or your rechargeables are fully charged or else you might experience a “continuous reboot” cycle. If you don't have any cartridges handy the, GB Boy Colour will comes with built in games that are pretty decent.I waited a little while to write this review because I noticed in some other reviews there have been complaints regarding the durability of this product. I received my GB Boy Colour on Saturday September 23rd, 2019 and have been playing everyday since and as of this writing (Saturday October 19th, 2019) I have not experience any glitches or noticed any defects with itMy grandson just happened to be with me on the day it arrived and he was just thrilled and excited about it. He is really looking forward to playing some of the old Pokemon titles. The GB Boy Colour has the potential to introduce these games to a whole new generation. A great product that I would recommend to any Game Boy fan!

Superior to the Original Overall
The GB BOY COLOUR is not your typical clone. It is actually pretty high qaulity from the inside out.The plastic shell of the outside of the device has a nice, and sturdy, professional feel to it. The buttons don't feel bad, and are not far from the same feeling of an original Gameboy Colour. A link cable port is present, as well as the infrared. I don't know if either actually work, but I would not doubt that they do, considering the excellent feel of the device, and qaulity of the plastic. The screen is the best feature of this device. It certainly shines bright enough to see in the dark, and enough to see outdoors under low to medium sunlight. The screen itself is a little bigger than the original GB Colour screen, as it is a few cm wider. This is hardly noticeable, and does not look bad at all. The system has played every game I have placed in it thus far. This clone is probably compatible with nearly any GB Colour/gameboy cartridge. The sound on this clone sounds the same to me. The system takes two AA, just like the original. It mighg be important to note that when a game is not inserted that a list of games come up when powered on. There are around 60 different games in the list, classics, and games I have never seen before. They are all NES style, and the list repeats each game about 3 times, which is weird. Honestly, they should have just not put this inside the system, as it doesn't really feel like it belongs in the device, but it is really only bonus material. I suppose I can't complain about that. I find myself using this clone over the original all the time. I highly recommend getting it if a backlight GB Colour/Color is on the wish list.

Dont let your batteries run on low
This is actually way better than an actual gameboy color. Given that its a knockoff (inthe best way) the buttons are a little clunky but not horrible. The screen is bigger, has a gameboy advance back light, and a gameboy advance speacker. Also if you take the game cartridge out and start the system you get a list of in built games. Some of those games are very rare and hard to find so its definately worth its weight in bottle caps.My only vomplaint is that when the battery runs low your games will glitch out of control. Exampl: i was playing Turok rage wars when all of a sudden Alladin jumped on screen then mario and then the gane froze. I turned it back on and it continually glitched until i realized that the batteries were low. I replaced them and the glitch went away. I imagine it glitched like that because of the in built games.Anyway, this is the only knockoff that i know of that is way better than the otiginal. If your a gameboy geek then you gotta get this, it just drips in geeky coolness.

For the five days it worked, it was a nice enough thing.
It was great for a while. I was actually surprised by the built in games, as I heard some didn't come with them. I was also surprised some of the built in games were actually really good games. The backlight is a good touch. The D-Pad and buttons don't feel.. the greatest but they aren't the worst either. But I've had it for five days, and now it doesn't turn on right unless I jam a cartridge in, and pull it out a few times. And it only reads carts for a few minutes at a time before resetting on it's own. Unfortunately, I can't really recommend it to anyone. I probably just got a defective one, but that's the point. I got a defective one. I was honestly hoping this was going to be a great thing, because I'd heard they are.Edit:Upon trying to play one of the built in games, because the GB Boy did decide to turn on normally, I found out that now it's also resetting on it's own even when playing the built in games now.

Nice to have.
Console was backing me out of the game (original Pokemon Yellow) and other pre-loaded games. Turns out the battery was low. No indication anywhere that this was the case. Other games listed won't load no matter what the status of the batteries. Don't expect too much.

Worth it for the back-light
The good thing going for this device is the back-light. All game cartridges that I own appear to work on this device. Pixel aspect ratio appears off but a fair trade off for the back-light. Only one channel plays out of the built-in speaker but the headphone jack still gives a stereo output.
