Great ideas, mostly easily accessible to parents, but book aimed at schools.
Very helpful book, but it's aimed directly at schools, so a sizable chunk of the book is taken up with lesson planning, health and safety forms, reviews - all the teams of paperwork that schools have to deal with. It would be brilliant if the authors could direct a similar book at parents and carers, who either home educate their child, or don't have a supportive school that offers this therapy. Only half the book is really relevant to parents, but that half is wonderful, and could be enormously helpful for the children / teens involved. Some circuits could be set up in the garden, park, beach, etc, as most suggestions use easily transportable PE equipment, but there are also many ideas that could simply be done in the house. The reason I dropped a star, was that parents aren't mentioned at all (other than telling teachers to communicate with them), which is sad, considering that we're our children's primary therapist, and most of us need this kind of help at home.

Great for groups or school
We are using this as a basis for OT skills in a before school club. It is very user friendly and clearly explains how it can be used to set up programmes for children, including observations, risk assessment and equipment needed. It has 3 sections: simply termed a set of activities for warm up, skill development and cool down. These have icons to explain which of the OT skill strands are covered by each one. Each activity is clearly explained with ideas of how to extend the skill area as children become more adept / confident. Many of the activities can be grouped by the equipment that you have available or adapted to suit what you do have. You do not have to go out and buy a lot of expensive kit to get started.Whilst it is aimed at small groups with a high adult to child ratio, some of the activities could be adapted to use with larger groups once they are familiar with them if you set up a circuits system for indoor PE sessions.

Full of really good ideas
The book is very well written and has proved a valuable resource bank of ideas for gym trail activities. It is set out well and is very easy to follow, I would definitely recommend it for anyone wanting to set up sensory circuits in their educational setting.

Perfect for teachers and practitioners supporting vestibular and proprioceptive systems
An informative book with ideas that are doable in the classroom, lots of pictures to help make things possible. Also, lots of information to help a practitioner decide who needs sensory circuits and why they need them!I work in a special school as the PE lead and have recommended lots of it to my colleagues and it would be perfect for mainstream settings that are just starting to support their children’s additional needs in a holistic manner
