PaddingtonAdapted from Michael Bond’s beloved books, PADDINGTON follows the comic misadventures of a polite young Peruvian bear with a passion for all things British, who travels to London in search of a home.Finding himself lost and alone at Paddington Station, he begins to realise that city life is not all he had imagined – until he meets the kind Brown family, who read the label around his neck (‘Please look after this bear. Thank you.’) and offer him a temporary haven. But little do the Browns realise just how much comic mayhem one young bear will bring to their family life, and when this rarest of bears catches the eye of a sinister, seductive taxidermist, it isn’t long before his home – and very existence – is under threat.Produced by David Heyman (The Harry Potter series) PADDINGTON, is a timeless and universal story written and directed by Paul King. With Ben Whishaw as the voice of Paddington Bear, the film’s all-star cast includes Hugh Bonneville, Nicole Kidman, Sally Hawkins, Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi and Julie Walters.Paddington 2The much-anticipated sequel finds Paddington happily settled with the Brown family in Windsor Gardens. While searching for the perfect present for his beloved Aunt Lucy’s 100th birthday, Paddington spots a unique pop-up book in Mr. Gruber’s antique shop, and embarks upon a series of odd jobs to buy it. But when the book is stolen, it’s up to Paddington and the Browns to unmask the thief.Paddington’s biggest adventure yet sees Hugh Grant and Brendan Gleeson joining the all-star returning cast of Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi and Ben Whishaw as the voice of the beloved bear.Extras Director’s Commentary ‘Rain on the Roof’ with Phoenix Buchanan – Full ScreenPaddington 2: The Challenge of Making the FilmBAFTA Q&A with David Heyman, Paul King, Simon Farnaby, Hugh Grant and Pablo Grillo

Quite simply these are two of the finest family films made in the last 30 years
Quite simply these are two of the finest family films made in the last 30 years. Everything about these films tells you they were made with absolute love and respect for the character and his author, the late Michael Bond. The cast is uniformly wonderful and completely game for anything, but the stand-out performance for me is, unsurprisingly, Ben Wishaw as Paddington. It is so heartwarming to experience a character so totally devoid of cynicism, so concerned with the well-being of others, who so embodies the simple ethos given to him by his beloved Aunt Lucy: Be kind and polite, and the world will be right.

Made my partner extremely happy
Impossible to review these terrific movies. Put aside the inspired casting, immaculate CGI, gag rate, cunning parodies - these films are damned clever. Paul King has made maximum use of all the possibilities that the cinema can offer and still succeeded in producing two first class pieces of 'family' (proper 'family') entertainment. They repay re-watching, thank goodness, so why buy one when you can buy two? And did I mention the politics? A warm, non-judgemental, inclusive multi-cultural society is presented to us and we'd be fools to turn it down. Right on!

A must watch.
These films are an absolute must watch for both adults and for children. The second one is just as good as the first which is very rare!I first watched these on Prime Video but couldn't help myself in buying the hard copy. For the price I paid I am really happy with this purchase. They both come together in the same dvd box.If you haven't watched it already them, I suggest you do one rainy afternoon.

Very sweet and very funny!
I've always loved paddington bear and his fun adventures and these films really are great fun for all ages, there's even a small cameo from Paddington's wonderful creator Michael Bond in the first film. Mrs brown is played by the lovely Sally Hawkins, Hugh Bonneville plays Mr brown and with the fab Julie Walters as Mrs bird, it's really a great deal of fun with two brand new paddington adventures to enjoy! Highly recommend for everyone!

Double the fun, half as cheap.
Well if you thought the first one was cute, the second is a lulu, or should that be Lucy?Beautifully acted, directed, with special effects just incredible.Makes you laugh - makes you cry, a very good price for invoking such emotions.

Second movie in 1st Place
Funnier and more endearing than the first movie with a better story IMHO, it features the familiar stellar cast along with stellar supporting actors such as Hugh Grant as the baddie, Tom Conti, Meera Syal, Brendan Gleason (to name but a few) and is just a great family movie. I especially love the reference in the prison escape sequence to the Wes Anderson playbook from the Grand Budapest Hotel! Highly recommended!

It's Not the Old TV Series
The films are brilliant BUT they are not the old TV series. This seems to have caused some people confusion. If you want the old TV series it is available, but the films are a fresh take, with many of the same incidents relived in CGI.Other reviewers have complained that the humour is childish - the thing to remember here is that it is a film for children and, probably, when the reviewers first watched the 'old' Paddington they were children too. My kids laughed like drains at all the bits that made me wince!

Dvd box not perfect!!
I have bought this as a Christmas gift. It has just arrived. The box corners are scuffed and there's a scratch at the top! It looks second hand! I have paid for brand-new. This is not good enough!
