15 metre cable lacking power or cheap product?
I purchased the above 15 M length cable at a cost of around £7 which was great. Item arrived promptly, well packaged and as described by seller.I bought this to replace two existing shorter cables joined in the middle between bedroom and kitchen. These cables are attached to a booster at one end (in bedroom) and terminate at the TV in the kitchen. The only issue I had with installation was that BOTH cable connectors weren't connected properly i.e. the little screws failed to contact/hold onto the copper wire - Easy fix just unscrew adjust and screw tightly so no worries there. So (stupidly) I ran the cable via the original route - easy enough - and connected.I had no signal so rechecked connections and still no signal. Troubleshooted the issue to the cable LENGTH. I know this because i cut the cable back at each end by about a foot and reattached the connectors. The picture was pixelated at first then after cutting some more off (total just over a metre) I had a normal non-pixelated picture. The difference between this cable and the original two short lengths is the shielding in my ones are copper and this (new one is thin silvery/grey wire? Otherwise physically the same make up on comparison. A point to note is that the original cables were joined in the middle by a double female connector and had a total length of almost 17 metres so longer than the new cable. It's now working as said but I feel the quality maybe means losing power and not sure if the type of shielding affects that but thought i'd mention it anyway. I am disappointed as it was hassle to get things sorted, it should have been a five-minute job and I can't return as I've cut the cable (TBH I only thought of shortening the cable as i had similar issues with HDMI cables). Feel free to comment if you know what has caused my issues
