Tone Hammer Bass Preamp Direct Box

I was searching for a preamp to power a new bass rig straight into a Crown PSA 2 back from the day. WOW, it gives me sweepable mid filter, awesome bass, awesome silky highs and a 2nd fuzz sound. Built like a tank. Powered with the ac adaptor and it is quiet as a whistle. A pre/post di out and ground lift switch built in. I have it up high on a music stand next to the music for a horn band I am in. No bending over and I can tailor the sounds on the fly, try that on the floor. My secret weapon to an old school custom rig that blows the doors off of most cabs I play in music retailers. I power a 15" sub with a mccauley subwoofer and a 15" celestion bass for full range. This rig now rocks. Time to buy the Aguilar TLC compressor. Buy with assurance that this thing rocks! Listen to the samples on the website and you'll be surprised. Bye Bye midi.....

This bass preamp makes every bass in my arsenal sound amazing. From my Fender Jazz 5 to my Squier and Yamaha models (active and passive). I have been playing bass for a year and a half (pretty much an intermediate level player) and if I would have known that a preamp like this could make my tone so sweet, I would have bought it with my first bass. Whatever style you play, finger-style, pick, slap and pop (thump), this preamp will deliver the sweetest tone. I don't have any road experience with it yet, but it seems to be build like a tank.

This is a great sounding and powerful bass preamp. Solid metal casing. Built like a rock. Only issue is the odd screw placement of the battery cover.

there are plenty of YouTube videos that give a sample of the Tone Hammer's tonal capabilities so I'll spare you. I will say that this pedal contains several different voices and I have not yet found a bad one.as far as quality goes, this may be indestructible. made from heavy gauge metal and the knobs/switch seem to be built to last.if you want a high quality di/eq pedal with a little something extra (ags) then I suggest you give the Tone Hammer a spin.

Adds a rich warm tone to my bass. I don't even a need a compressor with the Aguilar, it sounds tight and punchy on its own. This is a great pedal for the EQ and for the DI to take on gigs or church performance!

It's a great preamp, enhances your sound and gives it the punch that you need on stage. If you're in a gig that doesn't have a bass amp, this little beast can improve your bass sound like no other. I love it.

I love this thing, my bass sounds amazing. It gives you a warm tone with lots of bottom end. Plus, the AGS circuit is capable of giving you drive especifically over the middle tones, which gives you a completely different distortion from everything else, that cuts right trough the mix. LOVE IT!!!!, can't play without it anymore.

I play for a church and everyone's signal comes through a DI but I was losing a lot going direct to the board now it sounds like I've got a high end bass amp built into the church speaker system. Runs on phantom power solid construction and the AGS button will put some extra gain in (I can't use it without making the sound techs upset). Wow wow wow it is a great buy!
