Splits wood like butter.

Nice weight and hefty for cleaving wood. Handle has excellent grip for added control to strike without jarring the wrist. The flat is hardened well enough to allow you to sledge the wedge if needed.

This splitter is awesome! Am able to split small pieces of firewood with ease, with maybe a 25% swing.

So I originally needed just a hammer but I had to get this to trim some branches and it works just as you think it would it’s nice and heavy and feels good in your hand

Purchased this to use as a wood splitter to create starter wood using a small sledge hammer. The pointed design makes it impossible to split the wood straight down - the splitter kicks sideways when the hammer strikes. I’ll regrind the head straight across (like a standard axe) and this should fix that problem. I chose this axe to purchase because of its indestructible on-piece forged design. Maybe my “modification” will make it the perfect splinter.

First one I ordered was so dull the blade area wasn't even sharpened to a point. I understand it's a maul and doesn't need to be super sharp. Ordered a second one and it was sharp but the blade edge was sharpened crooked. Clearly they have a Made In USA quality control issue with their product.
