it is useless. As the receipt has been lost and I ...
It was advertised as reconditioned and fully operational. The DVD side works physically but will not play the DVD. The VCR side will neither play the VHS tape it has trapped, nor eject it. In other words, it is useless. As the receipt has been lost and I don't want to pay to return it, I am just out the money. I will never buy another 'slightly used/reconditioned' item on Amazon.

dvd/vcr player
Got the vcr/dvd within a few days. Was in excellent condition, looked like a brand new one. It was a birthday gift for my daughter. She is quite pleased with it.

I was ultimately able to get it operative.
The package did not include the remote or the manual. Fortunately I was able to find the manual online and the remote on eBay for about ten bucks. Once I had these, it has operated satisfactorily.

It doesn't work
I gave it one star because zero is not available. This unit is junk. The DVD plays discolored and grainy at best. The VHS didnt work at all. The seller advertised a remote. It wasn't sent and the seller wouldn't help. I will never purchase a anything from this seller.

Piece of junk!
I've had this Samsung VCR/DVD combo since about 2006. In about 1 year after owning the device I noticed that several DVDs couldn't be played on the machine. These were the newer DVDs that I ordered from Netflix. However these could be played on a DVD player that was nearly 10yrs old with no problem! Just after yesterday, my unit completely broke down. The VCR had recorded something from earlier with no problems. I went to watch a tape and the tape wouldn't display on the screen. Then the clock screen went black and unit started making a buzzing noise! So now my VCR/DVD is completely dead and non functional after less than 5 yrs for no reason whatsover! Don't waste your money with this crap! And I'll never purchase another Samsung product again!
