WD Red Plus 4TB NAS 3.5" Internal Hard Drive - 5400 RPM, SATA 6 Gb/s, CMR, 256MB Cache

I recently picked up this Hard drive to go into my Ugreen NAS, and it has been great. I bought it specifically to host my Plex media server and also to keep all my private files safely stored away. I'm really happy with this purchase as it's doing exactly what I needed and I feel it was good value for money. The first one I received was actually faulty and my NAS didn't recognise it at all, but the seller was brilliant and replaced it straight away without any fuss, which was a huge relief. When it comes to how the drive performs, it’s reliable and the speeds are decent for what I use it for—it handles streaming from the Plex server with no issues. Even though I had a slight snag with the first one being faulty, the quick replacement service means I still highly recommend this Hard drive to anyone looking for one.

Purchased to replace a faulty drive in a NAS device. Easy to install and repair the RAID. Usual WD quality and good value for money.

I have four of these in a server running on Raid. they are 8 years old and still working well. This latest purchase was bought as a spare for the four in the server in case one fails. So far I have not needed it and it remains on the shelf ready in case one fails

The part number received on all three drives I ordered is WD40EFPX-68C6CN0, written on the sticker and in the firmware. The part number on the box, and on the Amazon listing is WD49EFPX-SPC6CN0. The drives work fine but the WD website is refusing to register the warranty for the drives. I raised a support ticket the day after delivery. 10 days later they replied saying they will not register the warranty because the drives "correspond to a different region." I've called Citizens Advice and they have advised under the Citizens Rights Act 2015 I am entitled to a refund under two different bits of legislation. This is going to be a massive pain because they are already in use with data on them. Massive hassle so far, definitely avoid. I'll update if WD change their mind. UPDATE: Western Digital support have done a 180 and have manually registered my drives for warranty. The review remains 1* due to the product bought not being the product received, and the inconvenience to me that has caused. There's been no interest from Amazon nor WD to fix the item listing so this will happen to everyone else too.

Bought 5 of these bad boys and have used on a Synology NAS DS1522+ as it was time to update my DS 214+ play with it being over 10 years old, not that it wasnt working well, just wanted something a lot newer and with the ability to store more that i now have. No issues with any drive (but i was lucky if you see the images) and have used WD Red on more than one occasion as they are super reliable and love the guarrentee you get with them. One of the disks i bought was from amazon resale and it arrived without the correct packaging and i had my doubts that the drive would be ok as it should not be transported out of the carton and most definitly not without the anti static bag that one was.

The drives appear to be ideal for long term domestic data backup purposes and would automatically get 4 stars. I'm not sure how 5 stars could be justified except after, say, 10 years reliable use, which I fully expect to get based on the fact that previous green and blue drives have lasted longer without failure. I reduced the rating from 4 to 3 stars because the drives were shipped in the manufacturer's packaging, inside a strong brown paper bag rather than a box. There was no additional protection and we all know how packages sometimes get thrown around at distribution depots. Not ideal. With no significant damage to the packaging I have no option but to assume the drives had not been damaged in transit and will be reliable. Time will tell.

Jag köpte 2 stycken. Den ena kom relativt fort medans den andra blev framflyttad utan orsak varför. Supporten meddelade att de inte har någon ny info, endast framflyttat datum. Jag packade upp den disken som kom men den fungerade inte (DOA). Returnerade den och avbeställde den försenade disken.

Die Platte ist jetzt seit knapp 6 Monaten in meinem NAS verbaut und läuft stabil. Die Geschwindigkeiten sind für meine Zwecke mehr als ausreichend und ich bin absolut zufrieden.

Buenos discos. Los compre estando en oferta para mi nuevo Nas y de momento tras dos meses con ellos funcionan de maravilla.
