It is described as sharp, but it is not sharp strong to cut thick fabric for arts and crafts.

Excellent scissors. Do everything they should do and are very sharp If you want to do a lot of cutting out with these, I'd recommend going for the bigger size as you keep running out of handle with these as you cut. I have both sizes and both are great
