It's a long way from the Dreamcast to the Wii....
The Nintendo Wii was the first game console that I didn't buy to play Soulcalibur. Back in the day, I bought a Sega Dreamcast Console just to play the original Soul Calibur . Then Soul Calibur 2 came out on the PlayStation 2 Console Black , so I bought one of those. Next came Soul Calibur 3 , which tried to add some RPG elements and wound up being a step back. Oh well. Then earlier this year I bought myself a Wii on the strength of its immersive sports games. And now, to my delight, we have Soulcalibur Legends on the Wii. This should be the ideal platform for a sword-fighting game, right? The original Soul Calibur games were all about best-2-of-3 timed head-to-head swordfights in a variety of closed arenas. This game pits you against single and multiple opponents in what looks like open RPG-like settings, but they still seem to be relatively episodic. You move with the nunchuk and fight with the controller, which works OK; I'm still getting the hang of the way that moving the joystick and moving the nunchuck itself interact. Spinning 180 degrees is essential, but tricky.Above all, this game is going to be a good workout. No more sprawling in front of the screen, button-mashing your PS2 controller. You play this game standing, moving, feinting, jabbing, slashing. This is going to be fun - energetic fun.

Soul Calibur Series
Well... It's not really that good compare to the normal Soul Calibur Series (I-V), but because it's the ONLY Soul Calibur for the Wii, I have to compliment it is still good. But, to my opinion, the normal Soul Calibur Series should have it for Wii as well besides the PS3 or the Xbox.

WHY!?
The key points to this review are under this paragraph; so if you don't feel like reading this, then skip to the points I have provided.I have never played a SoulCalibur game that I did not like...until I bought this useless piece of crap. It is NOTHING like ANY of the other games and there are only (literally) a handful of characters to choose from. I ignored the reviews when I bought this because I thought, "How bad can this really be if it has anything to do with Soulcalibur?" Well, it can be VERY bad. Never judge a game based on it's previous games just because the name is the same. It even has sloppy, unresponsive, controls that have you performing abilities and attacks that you weren't even trying to perform. Even the way the story is set up is horrible and I am always drawn to the story above the game play being very fond of RPG's but I am an all-around gamer regardless. You must select which stage you go to after you have to read a crap-load of text from the characters you meet and that would be fine...IF...it wasn't boring as all Hell. This game also has poor graphics and the level designs, to put it frankly, SUCK! The bosses, while some may look cool, are very cut-and-dry and just perform the same skills over and over again. This game; therfore, also lacks variety. The only thing you can look forward to are the moments where you say, "Yeah, I remember that character from the other games," and THAT IS ALL! This game is a piece of "Kuso" and if you don't know what that means then look it up in a Japanese book but it is nothing good lol. Basically, to make a long story short, this game BLOWS...and not a good blow either...a virgin blow.Bad Points! This game is not funThis game has a garbage storyThis game has crap for graphicsThis game has poor mechanicsThis game has sloppy controlsThis game has a very limited selection of charactersThis game is very shortThis game doesn't allow you to play the story mode as co-opThis game has an extremely limited VS modeThis game has poor dialogThis game has very limited actions you can perform for ANY character you chooseThis game makes you want to rip your eyes from their sockets and squash themThis game makes you want to stab whomever made it because it is THAT horribleGood Points! This game is based off of a unique fighting game that was very memorableThis game has familiar characters from previous Soul Calibur games

As AWESOME as the Fighting Series
Soul Calibur Legends is as a wonderful adventure game based on the ever-popular fighting series. At first I was wondering if it was going to be any good, but after getting into it, I was completely blown away!! The graphics are outrageously beautiful, the sound is mesmerizing, and the game play is stupendous. It's really great to be able to use the Wii remote as a sword and the Wii Nunchuck as the control pad for this game. That makes it all the more interesting and challenging, and it adds to the interactivity of this game. I've only had a Wii since Christmas 'O8, and so far, this is one of the best games I've played for the Wii. Soul Calibur Legends is awesome!!!

Big let down
When I first heard of this game I thought, Wow a non fighting Soul Calibur game would be great, and my son was ecstatic about it being a fan of SC 2 and 3. Well it's not what I expected. You start out as Siegfried and you hack and slash your way through level after level, fighting the same enemies each level. Nothing wrong with hacking and slashing, especially with the Wii remote. I liked how you control your sword with the controller as you would if you were really in the game. The only problem with it is you are limited to only a few moves. (Wouldn't it be nice if you could customize your attacks, or the sword move the way your controller actually moves?)Anyway after a few levels of repetitive enemy death you fight a boss of sorts. Sometimes the boss will be unique and sometimes it will be a familiar character form the SC series. After these boss battles you will either free a new ally or the guy you just fought will some to his senses and join your team. And that's pretty much it. The big complaints I have is being to limited to what you can do in the game. I'm more into going through and going my own way through the game. I also hate repetitive enemy battles. Mix it up a bit. Every other level looks the same in this game. I did however like being able to switch between characters and the controls were ok, but like I said earlier it could have been better. Overall I feel this game was rushed while in production. No depth, limited control, and a very boring storyline.

Doesn't work.
I was sold this game and it doesn't even load up. I've tried to restart the Wii over and over, wash the dish (which has no scratches) and it still doesn't load/work. Very disappointed.

Not so great
We picked up this game and found it disappointing. The controls, instead of being innovative and fun, were awkward at times and got tiring. The gameplay doesn't give anything new either and actually is kinda boring. Save your money for the real Soul Calibur fighting game!
