Falcon Rods Coastal Casting Rod

I’ve always use falcon rods same as the rest not disappointed

I have a lot of rods and reels, but I am pretty new to fishing seriously. A friend recommended this for a small cheap baitcaster I had available to me. Turned out the baitcaster is garbage but this rod is fantastic! I am SO impressed. I need to get a decent casting reel for this thing. We fish salt water so open to recommendations.I need to get a rod for my old perfect original made in usa Penn 9500. I would absolutely buy one this brand. I just don’t know which one to buy. I use it on a boat so not too long, but I want to be able to cast pretty far too, use for trolling smaller stuff, and use for dropping up to a few hundred feet. If anyone wants to recommend something to me, I’ll listen.

Great rod for the price. Great for distance casting as mine is a 7'6" but it is not the best for setting hooks in flounder and redfish. The 7 foot medium heavy or heavy is probably better for Reds and flounder.Update 6-20-2019 Still works great. Fish a loot and keep them at a beach house and no corrosion. Perfect for Redfish and Red Snapper (Yes, but bait is 30 feet off the bottom). Also, I broke a guide (clumsy feet) and called Falcon to get the model of the guide I broke. They sent me two new ones free of charge:) In contrast, 8 years ago I had a Penn rod one week past warranty with a broken guide and there answer was too bad. That was my last Penn product and I had many over the years.

Looked like a nice spinning rod and seemed to be of high quality ,however ,I ordered a casting rod .I realize some of you may not know the difference but I would expect a tackle company to know. A easy experience returning item with no expense to me . If all goes well with the right rod this time the 5 stars stand . I recently purchased the same rod only 6 inches longer . It showed up without issue and turned out to be exactly what I was looking for.

This 6'8" Rod Med Light cast and performs greatFirst time out fishing with this rod caught six striped bass all were eight to eleven pounds and it handledthese hard fighting stripers perfectly.

Falcon rods are fantastic. I purchased two of these, one medium and one medium-heavy. They have plenty of backbone and are a tried and true brand.

Owning several, and now passing them on, these budget rods have varying feel/action when combined with a good quality casting reel from rod to rod. No two rods of the same model/specs feel or cast quite the same. If you're spending more than $150 on a reel, it would behoove you to spend the same, or more on a better rod IMO.

Great rod, paired with AbuGarcia Orra 2 Inshore Baitcaster. Great match, will toss that popping cork rig a mile! Caught several nice Redfish and big trout on first trip. Nice rig. This is my first Falcon Rod, not quite as good as St Croix Tidemaster, but better than anything in between!
