The Alpha's Mate: Shifter Romance (Werewolf Mates Book 1)

The Alpha's Mate is an enjoyable shifter erotic romance novella. It's a stand alone, which is great, but there are apparently more stories in this series featuring other members of this werewolf pack.Kelly has moved to Boise to study wolves. One night at a club, she is inexplicably drawn to a man she's never met and he's equally drawn to her. Max prides himself on being an in-control, responsible Alpha, so only one thing can explain why he loses control so badly with Kelly. Now he not only has to explain that he accidentally turned her into a werewolf, but that she's also his mate.There are many things about this story that I love about shifter erotic romances -- the instant overwhelming attraction, the possessiveness, and the hot sex. The author also takes a new twist on some aspects of the werewolf mythos that makes this story unique.I would have liked to see this story developed into a longer version with more character development, plot, and better editing. But as it is, the story is very engaging, and intrigued me enough to buy the second in the series to read Andy's story.

Ok story . Different than what I normally read in a shifter book . It was disappointing that there was no epilogue n it's like it jus ended in a rush . She didn't know her place in the pack , which was sad . Considering a alpha is suppose to love n cherish their mate he only jus liked her . I found the story lacking so much. The main 2 characters seem to be a casual thing . No emotions no love jus plain .

This is a very quick read- it seems shorter than it actually is. Kelly has moved to Boise for a new job researching wolves. She stops in at a restaurant/bar and is drawn to a man seemingly holding court at the bar, compelled to move toward him through the bodies on the dance floor. Max' s wolf has been pushing him to mate, but he has yet to meet her. Then he sees Kelly, a human, moving toward him. He meets her on the dance floor and steers her to the alley out back. In a moment of passion, his bite breaks her skin. Afterward, his beta takes Kelly home, confused about what has just happened and dazed from the bite.This story hits the high points. There is little character or story development and virtually no plot. What it is is a great diversion, or palate cleaner, between longer books or series marathons. It is exactly the type of book I look for when I need a quick break. For that it gets three stars.

Loved this book and would highly recommend it to those who love great romantic shifter tales. An unexpected meeting while getting a meal is about to change Kelly's life. Max can't believe his attraction to this new girl but when he accidentally bites Kelly it has consequences. Readers should enjoy this book which is short and sweet.

This was a well written paranormal read that flows well. It wasnt over the top with the violence but was still realistic in portraying the characters. I enjoyed the characters in this book and look forward to reading other books by this author.

Great start to the series in one short book you get introduced to the situation and character and set up for the characters in book 2.Here you have Kelly Shaw who just moved to Boise, Idaho to continue her work on wolves. A fateful encounter has her learning things from a new perspective.Max Stone is the Alpha on his neck of the woods and he takes care of his pack to the exclusion of all else. Unfortunately that has led to a solicitude his wolf is not happy with and now that he has met Kelly Sutton it has led to him losing control and making him want her in every way! Can he keeps his paws to himself and do the best for his pack?Read on and find out.

Kelly wants to observe wolves in the west. When she pulls into a dinky town she goes into a diner to eat. When she enters she realizes it's more of a bar than a diner but the food wasn't that bad. As she is looking around she catches a pair of eyes looking at her. Her instincts tell her to go front the man and she does he tells her his name is max. And before she knows it their in the alley behind the bar making out till he bites her. She wakes up the next morning feeling like a freight train has hit her. Until max calls her to meet up and she agrees. When he really tells her why they met up floors her. Short story. Good read

Yeah it was a free book n i know its short but basically your looking at instant sex and not much else.i like a sex scene as much as anyone but i like a story too and there really isnt one.no building of anything here.This book is really over before its begun! Good job is was free is all i can say.

Quick, hot sexy werewolf story. Short read but kept me interested until it's finished. Kelly is just about to start a new job, in a new place. She meets Max and it's an instant attraction, literally where they can't keep their hands off the other with a biting consequence. Max knows that Kelly is his mate but now needs to also help Kelly come to terms with her new life. I found this a really cute read and I was glued til the end, nice supernatural story.

Good book

4.5 stars out of 5.Wow I finished this in just over 2 hours that includes stopping half way through for a shower lol. I would have given The Alpha's Mate 5/5 instead of 4.5/5 if it was more of a Novel then a Novella. Either way I still enjoyed it. It was a good read.

Could have been longer you just got into story line and it ran quickly to the end scene too fast for me. Would :) ave been a great story if went into more depth of characters.
