These blades are acceptable for children upon arrival. There is no edge on any of them. Good thing I got a whet stone just days before I picked these up. Seemed to take an edge just fine.I do like high carbon steel. This type of steel should take an edge great, but will rust over time. The rust will knock off easily with a few swipes on the whet stone. So this is a great value. A bit of work on my end however.

I normal don't write reviews, but this product deserves this 1 star review. This is a HORRIBLE product. The blades came in with a dull and jagged edge. They did cut wood but with a terrible finish due to the rough, jagged cutting edge. I tried to clean the edge up with my really nice knife sharpener. I was able to get the blades really sharp and somewhat of a clean edge. The metal they use for the blade are really soft and cheap. They do not hold a good edge. The handles are too skinny to have a good grip.Do not buy!

I should have followed the review advice. There were not very sharp and I asked customer support about it. The answer wasn't good so I returned them. The return was quick and easy

I'm not sure but I do believe these blades should be sharp and not dull and rusty. I'm just now opening them after ordering some time ago. Wish I had opened when I ordered.

Sharp grind. The blades are brittle. Do not apply any pressure other than down the blade. I lodged the blade and broke it trying to take too big of a cut.
