Perfect for transmitting HDMI over your home network.
I am using two of these transmitter reciever ssystems to tansmit HDMI to other areas of my home over my home network. It works perfectly with clear pictures as if it were direct HDMI. I was unsure if this would really work over a LAN, through my home router and switches but it does work. You will need a router and switches that support VLAN"s as I put these two multicast devices each on their own VLAN. These are multicast streams and you may need to turn on IGMP snooping on your router to keep them from causing a broadcast storm on the rest of your network.

Not suitable for interfacing to remote PC via KVM Switch
My intent was to use this product to remote PC via a TESmart KVM Switch. This product is not suitable for that use; it was designed for interfacing to a remote device directly. The difficulty is that the Mouse and Keyboard ports on the Receiver unit are not full featured USB A ports and would would not function satisfactorily when connected to the USB B Port on the KVM Switch. This is not clear on the information on the manufacturer's website or the Amazon website. Also the user manual has limited usefulness. I twice attempted to obtain clarification from the manufacturer's support site, with no response. I finally found a comment in one of their FAQs for KVM switches that enabled me to conclude that the Mouse and Keyboard USB A ports on the RX unit have limited functionality. Incorporating a full featured USB Hub would have been far superior. Am returning this unit for that reason. Am purchasing an AV Access KVM Extender with similar features, pricing and which has a full featured USB hub incorporated into the receiver. The unit was designed for interfacing to a remote device such as a DVD player, a PC or other device that generates an HDMI signal and interfacing to that unit remotely using a local keyboard, mouse and monitor. I am sure it will function well in that manner. It would even function for remote KVM interfacing to a TESmart KVM switch.Additionally, all support is from a 'bot or the tech support team most likely located in Taiwan. There does not seem to be an American support team. Also the support team is not responsive. In general, I would not recommend purchasing a KVM extender from TESmart. The quality. features and pricing is good. Support is not existent to poor at the very best.

Keyboards dont work. Don't buy.
The video works fine over Cat5. But a very basic USB keyboard does not work. I happen to have several different keyboards and this device doesn't work with any of them including any one of 3 different basic USB keyboards, one somewhat fancy USB keyboard, two wireless USB keyboards and old PC/AT keyboard with a USB adapter. One of two things is true: Either they should ship a keyboard that does work or stop saying that USB keyboards work. They call it a KVM extender. Video works. Mouse works. Keyboard does not. It is therefore NOT what it says it is. This is junk. Don't buy it.

Does work
The device does work. The USB functioned correctly when I hooked up a mouse However, make sure you are using a router that can support gigabit speed or else you may get a partial image at times.

Solution to my issue
I needed to control a computer about 40 feet away from where it’s tower is (long story). All our equipment is old at our shop, and the first version of this I got was hdmi using converters to VGA, and it just wouldn’t work. I almost gave up on this hairbrained solution until I found this one, it worked perfectly right out the box. I’m sure I lost a little picture quality and maybe there’s some imperceptible lag, but for my application it’s literally perfect.

Excellent KVM Extender
I have, for years, wanted to move my KVM to a rack. I had to many CAT5e wires going across my wire support ladders and it was a mess. Now the KVM is in the rack and there is only one wire coming back to my monitor, mouse, and keyboard. The quality of the video is excellent. I am only using a 20ft CAT5e cable now. I had tested the extender using a 50ft cable and the video was still excellent.
