Good Heat, Almost exact fit
So this has been installed for about 3 months now. Its in a 2000 TJ Wrangler 4.0L. It was nearly and exact fit. The little tab that hold the two pipes together was a little off and needed to be bent a bit. If your attempting this job then a small bend with some plyers wont scare you. I saw complaints that its not that warm and doesn't produce enough heat. I have to say in my experience so far this thing has been excellent. I have run in 4 degree farh with a soft top and it has kept the entire jeep warm and without the need for a coat. The job itself was not fun, not incredibly difficult but time consuming.Hope that helps

Great part for the price.
So far so good. I installed this heater core in my 2000 Jeep Cherokee about a month ago. The job is time consuming, but I had no problems with the fit, form, or function of this part. Do yourself a favor and replace the A/C evaporator core and the blower motor while you've got the HVAC box torn out of the dash. The parts are all cheap and trust me, you don't want to have to do this again. The heat output of this core is adequate, however I don't think it quite matches the brass/copper OEM core. Considering the OEM part is now discontinued and it is near impossible to find anything other than an aluminum core anymore, this part definitely gets the job done for the price. As for the longevity of this core, I'm hoping that I don't have to tear my dash apart again anytime soon.

If you're expecting this to supply as much heat at warm up as a copper heater core you will be sadly disappointed. The amount of heat is acceptable but not ...
So after reading the reviews on this product I was a little skeptical but purchased it anyway. I thought that maybe people who said didn't Supply as much heat as the factory core were either just wrong or didn't know what they were talking about. Turns out they were right. If you're expecting this to supply as much heat at warm up as a copper heater core you will be sadly disappointed. The amount of heat is acceptable but not as much as the copper core. I myself did not have to bend anything to get it to fit. It fit fine. Overall I'm still happy the price made it worth the couple of degrees difference. Also I live in Minnesota and first tested it when it was minus 10 degrees so keep that in mind if you're on the fence it was the worst possible scenario

Not easy but an excellent part.
You couldn't find a better part for the money. Amazon asks if it was easy to install. If you have ever done this kind work you know it is a larger project. But when compared to the $1000 plus labor bill at a shop its worth it. Also make sure you replace the A/C evaporator at the same time.

I found that the coolant was disgusting brown, and the entire cooling system was full ...
My 98 Jeep XJ Sport 4.0L was having heating issues. I found that the coolant was disgusting brown, and the entire cooling system was full of rust and deposits. So I replaced everything. I read all the comments about this item, and decided to purchase it despite all the bad reviews. It's been replaced for about 5 months now and no problems. I do think that it should heat better than it does, but it's ok. I have a 30 mi drive to work everyday, and it takes about 20 mi to get comfortable (I'm in MN). But I also don't have any carpet left in the vehicle either, so I know that doesn't help. Cruising around town is no problem.
