Great replacement, hard to replace!
For the money this was a great replacement part. I have had it replaced for over two years now and it is still working great. But, it was extremally hard to replace the part on a 2006 ford taurus. It took me and a buddy several hours to do but we got it. I also replaced the coolant system. This is the one to buy though if you are planning on replacing this thing yourself!

Just what I was looking for!
Just what I was expecting for my 03' Ford Taurus OHV. Started having coolant leak from A/C condensation drain on the firewall so I figured what the issue was. The job took about 3 hrs so if you are mechanically inclined shouldnt be a problem but a few hrs of your time and a little frustration at times. It does help watching some youtube vids to help figure the best way to do the job. A few tips I would recommend is taking a camlock or ratchet strap from top driver door edge across the top to the bolt hole from the 13 mm dash mounting bracket to support dash as it is heavy and wants to sag. You will need every bit of room to install new core and have double sided tape for the insulation you pull off old unit as new does not come with any. Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase so far so good!:)

Fits perfectly into a 1999 Ford Taurus
I bought this to put into my Fiance's 1999 Ford Taurus (U Variant/3.0 V6). Anyone familiar with these cars knows that Ford designed the cooling system in a way that results in the coolant turning brown and later put out a recall to install a heater bypass hose. Even with the new bypass hose however many mechanics recommend flushing and changing coolant yearly on these vehicles.Therein lied my problem as the car appeared to never had been flushed and the heater core was extremely stopped up and led to increased pressure on the by-pass hose which sprung a leak as well. This heater core was a direct fit. The job took me approximately 3 hours with 10 minutes of help from another person and general tools. The only other thing to note is that you must reuse the old heater core's insulated foam pad. Being that the old foam pad was attached for well over a decade it did not want to separate easily. At first I pulled a few pieces off before figuring I would not be able to reuse it. I searched online and the part did not appear to be replaceable. I then had the idea to soak the heater core in a tub of hot water. Five minutes later the foam easily separated from the core and was able to be reused.I would recommend this part to anyone needing a heater core for this series Taurus and Amazon slashed the local retailer prices in half just about.

A great brand
Successfully installed in my '01 Taurus, and the heat was felt before my car was even close to being warmed-up. 172 degree air is what I'm getting nowI would also recommend the Utube video "Taurus heater core shortcut" that talks about cutting the (basically useless) bracket off (which is blocking the removal of the core). I used a hacksaw blade (my only option at the time)It is quite a good short-cut. Though you still have to unbolt the entire dash, however you are able to leave your leads plugged in (but the one in front of the core) and your steering wheel is still attached. :)
