A treasure!
This book not just contains recipes typical of the Jews of Rhodes but also many interesting details about the community and the family of Stella. Her personal touch is on every page!

Beautiful but too heavy
I was so excited about using this new cookbook. Unfortunately, it is too large and heavy to be used easily. The photos are lovely (too many unnecessary). The recipes look tasty (easily obtainable ingredients). But, I realize that I would never use it given the weight and size so I returned it. Good luck to the next person.

More than a Beautiful and Delicious Cookbook - WOW!
I am not Sephardic, nor am I Jewish, but I love to cook and am always looking for new and interesting ideas. When Stella's book arrived, I was initially impressed with the sheer quality of the book. It is gorgeous - the paper is thick and gold tipped and the pictures are lovely. But then I opened it and saw that it was much more than a cookbook - it is also a personal tale of Stella's family and her history. Throughout the cookbook, Stella is able to bring the reader into her life and share her story. I found myself reading her family story like I would read a memoir. Now on to the cookbook aspect, I have only tried a handful of recipes so far, but love that they are often an interesting twist on a more familiar recipe. For example, the macaroni and meat bake added eggs to the recipe, which made for a delicious twist on a meal that I traditionally serve. My kids loved this version too! I also really liked the simplicity of many recipes, such as the fish stewed in tomato sauce, where Stella makes suggestions for different versions.I am excited to try more of the recipes - particularly the dessert section.Thank you Stella and your beautiful family for your recipes and for sharing your personal story with us. You have all joined our dinner table as well.

The Most Beautiful Cookbook/Coffee-Table Book EVER
This book was created and conceived with such love. We are absolutely privileged to bear witness to this love, with Stella Cohen sharing it all with us.The book itself is a complete work of art, both in the way it is designed and the way it is written and laid out. Ms. Cohen had quite a bit of her own incredible artwork in the book, as well as intensely beautiful photos--not just of the food (although those pics are beautiful as well), but of locations around the world, family photos and old maps. The backgrounds on each recipe are insightful and always interesting, and the recipes themselves are laid out perfectly for cooks. I particularly love the ladino sayings at the bottoms of pages. Some I remember my grandmother (Nona) using, and some I remember my father and uncle using. This book is a joy to read, and even just look at. The peek into an ancient ethnic group and its history is mind-blowing, particularly if you are not familiar with Sephardic people.Enjoy!!!

A genuine treasure
I bought this book for my 11-year-old grandchild for her birthday. Hopefully it will become part of her understanding of her family’s history as well as her family’s kitchen. Beautifully written, With authentic recipes. Photos nearly as delicious as the food and culture they represent

A Beautiful Colourful Book.
The Book itself is a Work of Art, really superbly produced, a pleasure to turn the pages when using a recipe. It is also full of beautiful easy to follow recipes, with great photos. I just love how like a Family Diary it is, the author invites us into her past and we really get to see where her Recipes have come from and how they have Evolved through the Generations of her family. I really like this style of a Cookery/Family History of the Recipes Book.
