ESV Study Bible, Large Print

Great bible, complete and large print, includes hardcover!
The print is just the right size ( large enough to rest the bible on your legs and read) and the paper to letter contrast is impeccable. The cover is strong and the bible binding is well constructed. The notes and references are helpful. I do recommend this bible. There is one other bible to look out for.... titled: The archaeological bible, which may have more illustrations and supporting archaeological research to back up the scriptures. It is also on my wish list.

Easy to understand
So if you are like me, I always struggled reading and understanding the Bible. Someone suggested I try the ESV version and it by far has been the easiest for me to read and understand. Don’t get me wrong there’s still a lot have to learn, but this is definitely helped me get into reading the Bible more.

Large Print is better, but...
20241130: Originally bought standard print version in error which was almost impossible for my 71 YO eyes to read, so, ordered this large print version. Although the Scripture is in larger print, the translation print is still tiny... will keep as I do need guidance, will just have to keep my magnifier close by...Otherwise, it is a good book to help one read the word, and get assistance understanding meanings...

Easy to read
I love that I can read my Bible each morning without having to strain. The commentaries are easy to understand. It is heavy, so I also have a large print without the study portions to take with me to church and Bible Study

A very good study bible
I bought the large print as a gift for someone and I also have the regular print one for myself. By far this is my favorite study Bible.Another family member also got the large print, both individuals said that the print size was nice and legible. If you're looking for a study Bible in general this is one that you can't go wrong in.As far as the doctrine in the notes goes, they themselves explain in the beginning that the intent was to interpret the Bible as-is, as best they could. The notes lean towards predestination, continuation of spiritual gifts (including speaking in tongues, prophecy, healing, etc.), women not being elders/senior pastors, Jesus' and Paul's respect for women, how man and woman are equal in image and value with different functions, why homosexuality is sin, and I'm sure many other topics. While I only included those main points, and the reader does not necessarily have to agree with all of the commentators, it already shows that they truly tried to be impartial. Each issue is thoroughly explained with Bible references.Throughout the notes you will also see extra biblical references and even some references to the apocryphal writings, but strictly only as historical references, not doctrinal issues, this simply proves that they used external literature in their research and study, which is helpful to know and understand. In the back there are many articles regarding different topics, from theology to biblical ethics to world religions and different "christian" sects. I will include a few titles of the different articles here. The Canon of scriptureThe ApocryphaThe reliability of the New testament manuscriptsThe reliability of the Old testament manuscriptsThe SeptuagintHomosexualityDivorce and remarriageThe end of lifeBioethics (cloning, taking life, etc)AbortionCivil GovernmentWarThe trinityAnd many others. If you found any of this interesting, it's definitely a great Bible to consider.

Hardcover better than premium large print
I have a few ESV study bibles and last year I purchased the premium ESV in large print and the pages had a lot of ghosting , and it was really disappointing, had I not written in it so soon I would have returned it . I’m having a hard time reading smaller print . I decided to give it another try with the hardcover since I figured they used different paper than the premium and soooo much better . Hardly any ghosting at all. I’m very pleased with it and I own about 80 bibles all different versions and a few premium ones. I highly recommend this one due to the large print and hardly any ghosting at all . Also the premium one I purchased before was the Buffalo Leather just an fyi. More expensive doesn’t always mean better.

Quality bible!
I've read some negative reviews and none of them are accurate, at least in my honest opinion.First, I was hesitant because of the negative reviews but once I've received it, all the negative reviews aren't relevant. Great font size, the paper is white so it's a lot easier in the eyes compared to typical bible papers and most importantly, all the Bible verses are there, and no missing pages either.Anyone considering a great bible with a quality, this is it. Worst case scenario you have 30 days to return it but I highly doubt you'll return it by the quality unless you have a different reason.
